Su-33 A 1999 Sukhoi/KnAAPO/Rosvooruzheni brochure described an Su-33. The cockpit is to gain two large colour LCD multifunction displays, with a modernised flight control/navigation system and enhanced air-to-ground capabilities. Upgraded Su-33 is to be compatible with the R-77 (AA-12 `Adder') AAM and with a range of air-to-ground PGMs, including TV-guided Kh-29, Kh-59N, KAB-500Kr and KAB-1500Kr and laser-guided Kh-29L, KAB-500L, and KAB-1500L. Use of the Kh-31P will give an effective SEAD capability. now we have most of the stuff but for some reson not the real plane so will you be fixing this. or are you going to add more stuff and not fix the old? do not run fly!

britgliderpilot Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 No, an upgraded Su33 isn't ever going to happen because that aircraft Simply Does Not Exist ;) The Su27KUB is going to include those upgrades, but that aircraft (despite continued insistence about The Plan) still doesn't seem to be in series production. You've also got the interesting problems of then programming a two-seater with side-by-side seating and programming proper A2G radar. The first step towards such an aircraft will be The F16 Sim (if someone says Destroyer one more time . . . . ), and so far the plan is only to have the F16 and MiG29M with that kind of avionics. Also I dont believe there will be anymore addtional aircraft into Lockon, just in maybe future new release with new flight sim engine code. Just IMHO! :) Don't worry, I bet the next-gen sims will feature most of lomac's features. Come to think of it, I remember the days when Flanker 2.0 was released, damn time flies. The F-18 is one of the most sophisticated models in lomac, until the su-25T came along, it had no rivals, detail wise. Yes, it would be great to have carrier aviation in lomac (su-25UTG, Su-33, F-18 all with afm), but the devs got other priorities. And even you must admit that an evil looking chopper, painted in black, having a BFG (well, it is quite big) and rocket extraction seats and 2 explosive bolts on each rotor is a cool thing.
