  1. 1. New warning sounds/betty systems for certain aircraft?

    • I would like both new warning tones and a new Betty.
    • I would like new warning tones but the existing Betty voice/system is OK.
    • I would like new Betty voices/systems but I think the default beep is fine for now.
    • Keep it as it is!

I'm gonna create a poll for you guys to vote. Go ahead. I voted. I'm a loser :D

To me, the Betty/Nadia(?) for FC3 and the SU-25T is a bit unrealistic. I don't know much about the Nadia, but I know that most english warning systems don't call out exactly what is wrong. Most of the time, they shout out either a "CAUTION...CAUTION!" or a "WARNING, WARNING! WARNING, WARNING!" (This is about exactly what is said on the F-16C.) The default beep is about 10 years old, and I feel like its about time to create a new system in which aircraft have their own systems for warnings. What inspired me was that I was a bit suprised the A-10A hasn't recived the same warning system as the A-10C. It is upgraded with LASTE, right? Didn't LASTE include the same VMS used in the A-10C?

Please try to display your reason in a post. Poll votes are PUBLIC.

Moved to wishlist! :)

One thing i have to point out... naming a thread.. "OK, so" is as useful as tits on a bull.

One problem with this: in some of the FC3 aircraft ED kept the warning lights with Russian labeling in English cockpits - specifically in the Su-27. Without Betty saying what happened, I may have no idea what is wrong without:

A) Learning to read Russian or

B) memorizing what each light means based on its position on the panel, and hope I can recall that correctly in an emergency.

This may also be the case with the F-15C and the warning indicator panel - it may still be in English even when the game is set on other languages (not to mention I recall having to zoom in quite a bit just to see the writing on the F-15C warning panel). So unless ED makes language specific warning panels in all the cockpits, we need Betty to say exactly what the problem is.

* Edit: I'm assuming the above is correct because the DCS site is in English, German and Russian and thus I'm assuming DCS World has installs for those languages. I've never had a need to download Russian and German versions so I have no idea what the experience is for them.

Just my 2 cents, don't have any issue with Betty being scaled down with her warnings if that is indeed correct, as long as I'm able to glance at the warning panel and read exactly what is wrong immediately.

True. But you could have the russian betty with english symbols. I think I have found a mod that does just that. If there is one thing I wish is if they do indeed upgrade the system, they will have subtitles at the top for your language displaying what is wrong. Just like old times. ;)
