Update 1.2.6 UH-1H Huey Fault Log (they broke the Huey)

HUEY PILOTS BE WARNED!! DO NOT UPDATE TO 1.2.6

 

i just got on to fly the Huey again after updating to 1.2.6 and i have found that they added a radar altimeter! now, as nice as this is, it was hard to notice and enjoy after finding first that they have broken the following:

 

1-the throttle animation no longer works when i press my throttle keys. the engine and rotor respond properly, but the throttle itself on the collective does not move.

 

2-the aircraft will not start from parking cold. not sure why.

 

3-possibly connected to #2, the starter button used to press when i click the mouse, and release when i released the mouse button. NOW, the starter button presses in and stays when i press and release the mouse button, and i have to click the button again to get the starter button to come back up.

 

4-the pilot (right hand side) flex sight will not come down. i turn on the flex sight and the copilot flex sight comes down, the flex sight active text comes up on the right hand side of the screen, but the sight does not come down anymore.

 

5-the sound of the miniguns firing is no longer there. the guns fire, but there is no sound at all.

 

 

is anyone else having these problems? the beta was perfect, and now i can't even enjoy flying because so many basic things just dont work anymore.

 

does anyone know how i can rever to 1.2.5? at least the Huey worked in that version.

From the outside I get the noise of the barrels rotating but no gunshots.

 

This probably could have been put in the bugs section too and I think you're being a bit over dramatic in all honesty. Things break in every major update and they're fixed normally in a couple of days.

ok, i didnt know that, and no, i don't think i'm being over dramatic. if i can't get the aircraft to start, its kind of game breaking...even if its a beta. it doesnt make sense how you can add 1 thing to an aircraft and break so many basic things at the same time. i'm honestly a little PO'd but its only because this is the only game i've been playing from DCS currently and now, to me as a helicopter guy, its not worth playing until they fix these issues.

 

if there is a bugs section for the huey beta or for the update, i'd be more than happy to report all this in there again.

yea, i can see the throttle move when i operate it with the mouse as well, but i'm pretty sure mine didnt do anything to the engine when i did that. not sure though because i was too busy finding other things wrong with the huey. did your's actually change the engine at all?

 

if you could link that post about the pilot sight, i'd like to see that.

 

the radar altimeter works for me too, i just noticed it was there.

There is, it's right above this forum. Honestly I'm sick of reading about people bitching about things right when they come out and not putting it in the bugs forum. Yeah, it's broken right now, possibly due to unforeseen circumstances, possibly not. Who knows? If it's still broken in a week then it's a fair bitch but until then, chill out. Read a book maybe.

then stop reading people's posts. problems have to be reported so they can get fixed. i cannot seem to find where you are talking about a place to report bugs after patches. if you'd post a link to it, i'd be much appreciated.

1-4 can be resolved with deleting the input .lua files in the saved games directory and remap everything from scratch.

BST added a lot new commands for buttons, so this is needed.

And what you describe as the starter button isn't the starter button anymore, it now is the throttle idle detent like in the real UH-1.

 

So please calm down and look around the forum for some minutes before you go all mad, this was explained shortly after the patch.

 

I cannot comment on the gun sounds, didn't test that yet.

Numerous people were experiencing problems due to NOT first deleting their current keyboard.lua file for the Huey. This is an important thing to do

 

The RtShft + M will bring the sight down but won't illuminate the reticle. This is a separate step / switch detailed elsewhere in these posts

 

After an Auto Start you have to manually increase the throttle rpm's.

 

You will also have to power up the Radar Altimeter (new overhead toggle at back)

 

Overall I REALLY like the changes and additions to the Huey's flight model etc

Ok..... You can't see it from the front cause it's in back but you can find the hotspot by moving your cursor around near the lower left of the info label. there is a good photo in another post

 

You can see and activate it by looking over from the co-pilots seat.

Thanks for ruining one of my favorite aircraft... Deleted keyboard.lua and even my entire savegame config and still no joy. All that happens now is that the game doesn't register my keyboard being there so i cant actually exit the game without an alt+tab. So THANK YOU, for ruining the almost perfect aircraft. :thumbup:
