skc Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 I recently needed to reinstall Win7 and got a new !TB drive in the process. However my original DCS with A10 add on updates etc still remains on the old drive. Do I need to re-install and again download all the updates etc or can I copy the entire DCS Folder from the old HD to the new and run from there? Bandwith is limited and expensive in my area and trying to avoid all the downloading etc. Would I still need to re-install from the disc however? If it cannot be done this way is there a way of backing up the updates in future. Thanks in advance.
SkateZilla Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 (edited) I'd Re-Install, With Whatever Install Media you have Already. As the Old Registry that contained your Eagle Dynamics License keys are on the old drive. Activate everything, Say no to the Update Prompt (or Unplug LAN). Then Rename the /Eagle Dynamics/DCS World/ Folder and Copy your Updated one to the new drive. You need the registry entries for License Keys and Install Path of new modules.
