External Model FPS performance

Hi there,

 

Just congratulations to this amazing addon, its just amazing flying a big helicopter in DCS this way.

Can't wait for the planned features and the English manual.

 

No I just want to complain about the FPS performance of the external model.

First I had bad fps in cockpit and out but after a full DCS reinstall its turned back to normal except when looking at the outside model or even worse seeing some other players fly the Mi8 near me.

Is this a know issue and will this be fixed?

 

My PC spec are not that bad in my opinion.

I agree. The external model is a true FPS killer, especially when another Mi-8 is flying/taxiing/parking near.

I'm not experiencing this. I've got 30-35 fps inside and 50-55 fps outside.

Somehow recently I have delete the folder C:\Users\Me\Saved Games\

and then set up all setting again. FPS increased from 19 to 42, at the same settings. Phenomenal:)

Unfortunately, not for me. Did complete reinstall yesterday, no avail. It's the first time when I'm getting better FPS inside cockpit than outside.

 

I love the model but this is insane. I don't know how many polygons it has, or how it compares to models in other games, but I still think that one high-poly model should not bring a computer to its knees, not even a mid-range one.

Have already tried the PilotMi8 solution and it doesn't work for me. Sometimes I have a huge fps drop in external view, and I think it depends on camera angle. Thats frustrating, especially if you want to fly with other Mi-8's.
