Only cyclic works; collective, throttle and rudders not...

Recommended Posts

New to DSC, downloaded the latest version two days ago (1.2.6) and just bought the DCS: UH-1H Huey. Impressed with the graphics, and look forward to flying the UH when possible.

Am used to flying X-Plane 10 (64 bit), with DreamFoil's 'Robinson R-22 & Bell 206' with C-Tek Heli Flight Controls (http://www.c-tekflight.com/)

cyclic, collective and pedals.

In X-Plane, the controls work fine, and make the helicopters fly as realistic as is possible in a sim; throttle, cyclic and rudder pedals all move and function!!

However, am unable to make them all work in DSC UH-H1 Huey!

Only the Cyclic works in the simulator.

In the "Options" → 'Control' → 'Axis Command', I can assign the 'Rudder' and the 'Collective' in DSC's 'AXIS TUNE' panel, and can tune the axes, with the sliders moving ;-), but in the simulation I do not see the rudder pedals nor the collective moving. Only the cyclic is moving, and working in the simulation.

The only way the rudder pedals move is by pressing the 'Z' & 'X' keyboard keys, even though I have cleared them in the DSC control set-up.

The collective does not move either in the sim. It s stuck at 45°.

Somehow the key commands are still assigned to it, but the control options are empty for the collective 'up' and 'down' choices.

Is it that you cannot assign a working 'throttle' in the sim? Don't see the axis assignment for it in 'Controls' settings. Even though five (5) axis are being recognized in the 'Axis Command' setting.

Have looked all through the DSC forum (http://forums.eagle.ru/?langid=1), but can't find anywhere if someone has the same problem.

Downloaded the manual for DSC, but there's nothing on there that explains this problem.

Would appreciate if someone could maybe point me in the right direction.

Best Regards,

Herman

"Contacted" support three weeks ago, made a ticket, and haven't heard a thing since.

Does anyone have an idea what the average reply time is in regards to tech support for DSC issues?

First 'ticket' autoclosed without any response, other ticket have not heard one thing in reply.

Is there any direct email address to "talk" with tech support?

Make sure you are in the right Layer.

Means: What you set up for "UH-1H Sim" wont work when you fly in Game mode , and what you have set up for "UH-1H Game" wont work in full simulation mode.

If this isn't your problem - please check this sticky:

corrupt calibration? crazy joystick response? Use this tools Fix it:

It contains a instruction how to set up your profiles to default.

Btw: This is anyway needed after the update to 1.2.6

Hi PeterP,

Thanks for the quick reply. Will look at being in the right layer; was not aware of them.

I take it that the 'Sim' mode reflects more real life flying, as opposed to the game mode?

Downloaded V 1.2.6 and never had previous version on my computer.

Just to add to what Peter said. If you look at the Options>Gameplay sections, near the top left is a check box labeled Game Avionics. That check box determines which control scheme (Game or Sim) is being used.

Thats a very nice set up you have there i would like to know now you have them working how well they work with the Huey.

They work very well. Control is very smooth and due to the precision, tiny little corrections / movements are possible. A hover is very smooth due to the control sensitivity.

Sorry Jay43, didn't see your reply 'till just now...

Comp set-up works very well with Huey. It's the only module I fly / use on DSC.

Have all settings at their highest and never have seen any low frame rate issue anytime.

Shadows in cockpit are razor sharp, and Huey flies very realistic.

The Huey has become very addictive to fly!
