PavelKrupets Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 HOTAS A-10 Warthog + Saitek Pro Rudder + Track IR I assigned all axes correctly. But when I use rudder on Saitek my A-10 rolls and pitches (plus yaws as expected). This makes it very exciting to fly (deadly exciting)... I edited defaults.lua (in plane config folder) by commenting out lines for pitch and roll but then HOTAS stopped working as well (though it fixed rudder issue). Did anybody meet this issue? :(
Eddie Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 If you mean that the aircraft slowly rolls into the turn and also slowly pitches up or down, then well yeah. That's what aircraft do. If you mean actually elevator and aileron control surface movements are obeying commanded by your pedals, then yes there is an axis mapping issue. Call up the controls display via RCtrl+Enter and watch the pitch and roll axis to see if they move when you use your pedals. And most importantly, post a track.
PavelKrupets Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 If you mean actually elevator and aileron control surface movements are obeying commanded by your pedals, then yes there is an axis mapping issue. Plane doesn't go just a little bit, it goes all the way. Basically I relax the main stick, then I check control surfaces movement when I move my rudder and I see ailerons and elevator deflections (large when I move my rudders a lot). And most importantly, post a track. What's the track?
Eddie Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 In that case it's an axis configuration problem. Remove all axis assignments from your pedals and then reassign only the toe brake and rudder axis. DCS has a habit of assigning rudder pedals to pitch and roll on initial setup.
PavelKrupets Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 That's what I did. I cleared all controls and only assigned rudder and it didn't help. I run my DCS World from Steam. Do I need to run it as admin? Thanks for your help!
104th_Maverick Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 (edited) Just like Eddie said make sure you remove all other assignments you don't want in your controls options: Yes run as admin sir! Also, try going in to the axis tune, you need to click on an axis first, then click axis tune... add a little 'curvature' (try 15-20 to start) to see if that helps! 159th_Viper Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 What's the track? To post a track, do the following: Run the mission and when you have replicated the issue just hit 'Esc' and you will be taken to the debrief screen. On the debrief screen there is a tab that allows you to save the track named 'Save Track'. Click on 'Save Track' and follow the prompts to save the track which will be saved in your Saved Games/DCS...../Tracks folder. Once the track is saved, navigate to the Main screen and hit the 'Replay' tab. Select your track to view and just confirm that the track has saved and is indeed playing back correctly and illustrating the problem as you experienced it in-mission. If you are satisfied, exit SIM and post a reply to this thread. When doing so, you will notice a paperclip icon for attachments in the top toolbar. Click on the paperclip and a new window (manage attachments) will pop up. Hit the 'Choose file' tab on the left and navigate to the location of your track file and hit open. Thereafter hit the 'Upload' tab and the track will upload. Once done, click on the paperclip icon again and the forums will automatically insert the track link for you in your text. Hit the 'Submit Reply' tab and you're good to go. Post your track if the issue still persists after attending to the afore-said posts. Novice or Veteran looking for an alternative MP career? PavelKrupets Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 That's what I did. I used clear category on all controllers and for both keyboard and joysticks. But I still had this issue. Will retry again today. I am reinstalling DCS World to location other than ProgramFiles.
