Aaah, I'm not sure about that. The dictionary indicates "liter" as common translation, but also says "it could be litre".

 

I couldn't decide and wrote "liter". What's your opinion?

Totally incorrect, in English it is Litre, in American it is Liter. It is another example of words spelt differently on the opposite sides of the Atlantic.

 

I'd suggest the correct spelling should be the Oxford English version, litre, and not the version resulting from the corruption that occurs when it passes across large expanses of sea water!

The differences between English English and American English really are amusing sometimes, but I've never quite understood why English people have such difficulty actually pronouncing words in their native language....always leaving out r's etc. :)
