Skithis Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 While playing through Georgian hammer in mission 3-1-0 I had taken out numerous tanks and AAA with 6 mavericks and 7 gbu 12's from 12000 feet. On the last pass after I thought all air defences were destroyed (hadn't had a lock attempt in over a half hour and 10 passes) I had the lock up alarm sound off the RWR. I was 5 seconds before bomb release so I flew straight to get the weapon off. I didn't believe somebody had locked me. As soon as the bomb dropped I got the missile launch warning and sure enough right off my nose and under me here comes a sam streaking up through the sky. I dove and tried to gain speed from my slow bomb pass (big mistake) and the next thing you know I was floating through the night by a parachute over a Georgian city. Anyways, My wingman flies around uselessly the entire mission because I cant get my UHF radio to work. The menu is black even though the radio shows the correct freq. (251.000) How do I make contact?
Jona33 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Um, do you mean you can't use the UHF when you've ejected. That would be because you're violently seperated from said radio by a whole load of rockets. If that story was just a bit of background then try unticking easy communications in the options menu. Always remember. I don't have a clue what I'm doing
TeeJay82 Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 Im guessing that was a off topic scenario :) btw, be sure to know you have 3 or 4 radio menus to map as buttons... UHF,VHF AM,VHF FM, intercom? be sure to press the appropriate radio button... as UHF radio menu for wingman and VHF AM for example tankers
St3v3f Posted September 30, 2013 Posted September 30, 2013 It's possible for radios to get damaged and non functional aka: Baron [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

(I fell into that trap myself ;D) The way it works is that everyone of your radios has a different Hotkey (In the Controls under HOTAS) which is placed on your throttle. I think you can't click it and have to map it to a hotkey or remember the default keybindings. You can only talk over UHF for example, when you use the UHF radio button. On the TOP right above the radio menu you should see the name of your respective radio that you are trying to use.
