same happened yto me when i couldnt find my cd copy , so i resorted to dloading it again and that was the speeds i got, you would think since WERE PAYING for it, that they would at least host it on a fast server, also the copies that i did eventually get at that speed, every single one never unpacked properly and i always got an error code 3 i think it was.

 

I tried 3 or 4 times takin about 2 days, i eventually gave up and hunted for my cd copy, which thankfully i found.

 

I posted about this when someone else was having exact same problem.

Regrettably I could not keep my files, as I had nowhere to put them, really. and besides it's probable an infection prompted my reinstall- it made sense to get fresh files over a new xp install and fresh update.
