BrzI Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Hi folks ! Is it possible to lock the maximum FPS settings like in FS2004 ? I suspect the answer is no but no hram in asking :D Thanks
Guest EVIL-SCOTSMAN Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 vsync, if say your monitor refresh rate is 85 hz, then with vsync on it wont go above that, but it will go below at times, the lowest you could go is have your monitor set at 60hz, and have vsync on that would get you locked at 60fps, not ideal i know but thats the only way i know of how to lock fps in lockon, there maybe another way ?
BrzI Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 Meaning ? I know vsync is a video card 3D setting. That does not help me with FC though... Please elaborate :icon_syda Thanks
Maximus_G Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Manually add MaxFPS=XX into graphics.cfg file.
BrzI Posted January 27, 2006 Author Posted January 27, 2006 Manually add MaxFPS=XX into graphics.cfg file. Thank you !! Just what I needed.
Jetfire Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Ok I posted about 15 posts this afternoon, but this one is worth it! Damn Maximus, I did the MaxFPS = 60, just as a test, and my fps doesn't go higher than 60, but it doesn't go much lower either! Thanks! It must keep my vid card cooler, I think I'm having temp (or had) problems with it.
juan_mol Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Wouldn't it be nice to have a Min FPS lock. :D
Force_Feedback Posted January 27, 2006 Posted January 27, 2006 Wouldn't it be nice to have a Min FPS lock. :D Yes, but for that you have to change the CPU, Semprom= 12 fps, AthlonXP64 3200= 20 fps, XP64 4000= 28 fps, and FX-57=34 fps :p Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Harven Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Some games will dynamicly reduce scenery and such to maintain a minimum FPS. It could be applied to lomac I suppose but that would just be more work for the cpu to deal with.
Guest ThomasDWeiss Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I don't know why, but this is the funniest thread I've read in a long time - :D MaxFPS HAHAHAHA! LOL!
Guest IguanaKing Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 Hehehe...whatever rig he's using, I want one. :D I can't really say that excessive FPS is much of a problem for me at the moment. :icon_jook

Whe ntheying the su-25t I get a steady 12fps ;) so no complaining about too high fps from me. Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Guest IguanaKing Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 LOL! :icon_supe What I need is a "rate-of-gameplay" lock for Command & Conquer. Ever since I built this rig, stuff happens too quickly in that game sometimes and I can't react fast enough. The graphics are definitely smoother, but everything else sped up too.

Hmm, didn't C&C have a game speed slide? I can't remember if it had the slider, but Red altert certainly did, oh the days, real actors, great storylines, sooo unlike Generals and Renegade, which are a shame to the brand. Oh, any news on a new C&C game (red alert 3?)? Creedence Clearwater Revival:worthy:
Guest IguanaKing Posted January 28, 2006 Posted January 28, 2006 I haven't heard anything. The most recent I have played around with is Generals:Zero Hour. The Generals series isn't so bad if you don't mind micro-managing your troops...MAN those grunts are STUPID. :D Just got COD2. Now THAT is a resource hog...it puts LOMAC to shame in that department. Its kinda puzzling, since the highest graphics settings don't yield results that are much better than HL2...and THAT runs smooth as silk.
