MKDAWUSS Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 What's the most beat-up A-10 you've managed to land? You know, when you decided to just ignore the eject calls and bring that thing down.
AlpineYoda Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 No engines. One rudder gone. Half a wing gone. No gear. Belly landing on an airstrip. Instrument and multi-engine rated pilot SAR pilot with US Air Force Auxillary / Civil Air Patrol, Colorado Wing
Skithis Posted October 26, 2013 Posted October 26, 2013 Got both engines shot out, no gear, 1 rudder, and the tip of the wing gone. Glided all the way back to base and skidded her in, called ground crew and was back in the air in 5 minutes.

Frogisis Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 I got hit with two IR SAMs right in a row, lost the right engine (and then the left one later), most of the right wing, both MFDs and the HUD, the front and left wheels, and the right gear strut entirely. Hobbled back for a dicey belly landing at Vaziani. It was one of the first times I'd sincerely tried to bring one back all the way to the field instead of ejecting, hitting ESC, or just experimenting with what it can still do, since once I saw the gear was gone I had to take on the challenge. For when it goes wrong: Win10x64, GTX1080, Intel i7 @3.5 GHz, 32GB DDR3, Warthog HOTAS, Saitek combat rudder pedals, TrackIR 5 / Vive Pro, a case of Pabst, The Funk
amollen Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 No wings, no tail, no engines, no landing gear, no avionics, pilot died.. Still greased it. LOL. Gotta introduce a Like button on this forum.
