Dudester22 Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 When I land at a base and change my weapons load with the ground crew. They tell me that rearming is complete, but when I look at my weapons in the cockpit they show up as been empty? I have selected the Mk -5 rockets to do weapons training but why aren't they loading up? what am I doing wrong here?
ENO Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Is it on a custom mission? Is it one where you've done "prepare mission?" on by chance? "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
lobo Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 Are you updating the DSMS? When rearming complete: DSMS..............................update per new load as below OSB 12 Press/Hold til..............DISPLAY PROGRAM page LOAD OSB..............................................................select OSB 12................................select to designate as LOAD OSB 12 ..............select again to access DTS Upload page LOAD DSMS OSB 18.....................select to reload DSMS Lobo's DCS A-10C Normal Checklist & Quick Reference Handbook current version 8D available here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/172905/

My weapons start ok but when I return to rearm it happens. So when I land I have to do this list above before takeoff? I haven't got as far as this with weapons training, is it in that order and easy to master?
ENO Posted November 24, 2013 Posted November 24, 2013 (edited) Yes, but then you need to reverse that process to get it back to DSMS. Basically what you're doing when you're holding down the OSB key is you're entering a configuration page which gives you the option of swapping existing OSB functions for one of the options that comes up. In this case you're wanting to swap out DSMS with LOAD (That's what I do... but that's OSB14)... so when you hold down on DSMS for 2-3 seconds, a bunch of other options pop up along the sides of the MFD. What this is doing is giving you a choice of which function you wish to reallocate to which OSB. So when you click "LOAD" in that option- you're saying... okay computer, I want you to place this LOAD function on "THIS" button- and then you click where you want it... which in this case is where the DSMS button was (OSB14). OSB12 works just as well- but in my example I'm simply demonstrating how I do it personally and the fact is you can place it on OSB 15 if you want to. Or 11... you get the picture. And yes- you can even place it on OSB13 ;) Once you've clicked on OSB14, then you've moved the LOAD function into the slot previously occupied by the DSMS function. When it is there, click on it and it will give you the option of "LOAD ALL, LOAD DSMS" etc. Just click, LOAD DSMS. It takes about 5 seconds... Once that is complete, you want to regain function of your DSMS screen... so hold down the LOAD button for a few seconds and you'll notice the options pop back up. Select DSMS, then click back down on the OSB 14 (LOAD). That will relocate the DSMS function to OSB14. Then you can click on that again and your DSMS screen will be back on. In my (original) answer, I thought you were saying you were being told by the ground crew that you were rearmed but when you look outside your wingtips are bare. That's a different problem. Yes seems a very helpful community around here. I would have had a nightmare working that out if i had read that section of the manual, because I feel it over elaborates at times.
