Wrecking Crew Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Been messing around with fast F-15Cs and a very small spherical zone of 50 whatever radius (meters or feet, I'm beyond keeping track). Seems that these fast movers won't trigger an event each time they pass through this zone -- is the reason because they are moving so quickly through the zone that they are not there for a tick of a second to detect the event? I think I need gates instead of small spherical zones? Advice? Test mission is attached. Fly the F-15C under the bridge span at the white smoke. Shahdoh Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Crew, Can use mist.scheduleFunction to check the zones 100 times a second (see any of my race courses for examples) then you will still need to make the zone big enough for how far an aircraft will be able to travel in that time frame with a bit of a buffer.
Grimes Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Yeah its not running fast enough to detect that the unit is in the zone at a specific moment in time. By default it runs the function every 1 second. You can adjust it with the interval variable with the mist flagFuncs: http://wiki.hoggit.us/view/Units_in_zones Set the interval to 0.1 or 0.05 and that should do the trick for small zones and fast jets. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.
