cichlidfan Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 If this is supposed to be the released version of the Huey, why is there no mention of an updated manual in the change log? The manual is far from finished. The manual is far from finished. Public 1.2.7 should be the final version, not the open beta. Per aspera ad astra! cichlidfan Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 Either way, the manual is/should be part of the beta and the version provided still has not been updated in seven months. No doubt about that, but I can understand that there are higher priority goals for BST atm... Per aspera ad astra! cichlidfan Posted December 18, 2013 Author Posted December 18, 2013 No doubt about that, but I can understand that there are higher priority goals for BST atm... True, but technical writers generally don't write code or produce graphics assets so... outlawal2 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 True, but technical writers generally don't write code or produce graphics assets so... That is true, but you can't finish documentation until you know exactly what is going to be available, how it works and what it looks like. Many features still aren't ready yet so they can't possibly finish documentation for it... My guess would be the documentation will be the absolute LAST thing finished for just that reason.. Suchacz Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 You know guys, manuals are for cowards :D Per aspera ad astra! Crucial reading about DCS: Black Shark - Black Shark and Coaxial Rotor Aerodynamics, Black Shark and the Trimmer, Black Shark – Autopilot: Part 1, Black Shark – Autopilot: Part 2
outlawal2 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 You know guys, manuals are for cowards :D As a GUY I hear what you are saying and I am as guilty as the next guy of simply jumping in buckling up and diving into a simulation sans instruction... However Once you have killed yourself 10 or 20 times doing something blatantly stupid (But not knowing it because you haven't read the manual yet) it is nice to have a glossy, shiny awesome manual that blatantly points out just exactly HOW stupid you really have been! (Besides, I have learned a LOT of useful info over the years from folks like DCS, and before them Microprose and their excellent manuals..) Call me a manual Whore! I Luv 'Em! The overhead console in the Huey looks pretty finished to me. :) ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero, i7-6700K, Noctua NH-D14 Cooler, Crucial 32GB DDR4 2133, Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 256GB, Samsung EVO 250GB & 500GB SSD, 2TB Caviar Black, Zotac GTX 1080 AMP! outlawal2 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 The overhead console in the Huey looks pretty finished to me. :) Yep .. How about sling loads or multi player or anything else that Belsimtek is waiting on ED for? All those items will require documentation that can't be completed until they are completed.. Hence the wait on documentation.. "Pride is a poor substitute for intelligence." RAMBO
