KewlerMouh Posted December 27, 2013 Posted December 27, 2013 Greetings Gentleman, I have a burning issue I try to get solved for quite some time now. I went through the BS Manual and the web, but couldn't find an answer. So I am asking you, veterans, perhaps someone can help me: I look for a way to use the WCS as a backup for the PVI 800, on which the AP depends. Only question is how? Is it possible? Again... how? The idea came after stumbling over this thread from 2009: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=41704 I have found that when I lose hydro and my AP lights blink, I can switch the weapon controls system to handle navigation and I can land the helo. by JG14_Smil
thawall Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I'd be very interested in this too! But the only hint in the manual that I found is in the table of EKRAN messages (page 6-30): Msg number: 34, Msg text: TURN ON NAV BACKUP Sadly the procedure on how to do it, is not described. Also, this would be interesting to know: Msg number: 102, Msg text: WPN CTRL MEMORY FAILURE, description: "Turn on combat tasks backup" Any ideas?
Balion Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Flight manual, p. 177 (6-103): Targeting Mode Control Panel 8. “ОСН РЕЖ” “РЗН” (Backup navigation tasks on the combat computer) mode can be used to update the aircraft’s inertial navigation unit (INU). This is a less capable of way of updating navigation but both the navigation and weapon computers can partially replace each other.
KewlerMouh Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 Excellent, that's it! Thank you very much Balion!!! For English Cockpit users: "P3H" is "FAIL" -->INU Backup va Combat Computer --I get my AP channels; "РЗБ" is "NAV" -->Backup combat tasks to nav computer Happy New Year everbody and merry christmas to Russia!!
