JHepburn Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 So, returning after a long break, I unpacked my WH HOTAS and cranked up the sim. Unfortunately, it seems my right throttle is hosed. When I push it all the way up it gives me about 70% of total travel (validated in USB Calibration). When I pull it back and over the stop it does not show a button depressed as the left throttle does. I've tried to calibrate via windows as well as the calibration tool here...anyone else have this issue or suggestions? Does the throttle use the digital pots similar to the stick? I _really_ don't want to purchase another one of these. I opened a ticket with TM but haven't gotten a response yet. I'm wondering if the pot somehow got spun in the case, but I wasn't sure if I could get to it or not. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
Seil Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 TM might take a day or two to get back to you, but from my experience, they have really solid support that is always willing to help. Have you tried checking firmware version / updating? It is probably one of the first things they'll have you do once you get a response. I am only speculating here, I've never had that issue (unfortunately I don't know anyone else who has either) Good luck man! -Seil WotG Founder & A10C Lead
JHepburn Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Forgot to mention...firmware is up to date. Thanks Seil!
blackbelter Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Did you install the afterburner detent, like in this video: That may explain why you can't push the throttle all the way. You have to lift it up a little in order to use afterburner. Edited December 31, 2013 by blackbelter
JHepburn Posted December 31, 2013 Author Posted December 31, 2013 Negative, haven't touched it. Left side is fine...right side is not working correctly.
Seil Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Again, I have no experience with this particular issue; I do however know a few people from our squadron who have dealt with support issues from TM. I would be prepared to explain to TM (if you haven't already done so) what version of firmware you're using and what the symptoms are. This seems abnormal from all of my squadron's combined experiences. I would suspect a replacement / repair to be at hand. Even if you haven't received a response yet, I would probably quote your initial inquiry, add any further details and ask again for assistance. Bear in mind, unfortunately it is the holidays and a delay may be at hand. I WOULD definitely bet on a defective unit however :( -Seil WotG Founder & A10C Lead
