  1. Here's the ebay link. I'm sure a mod will delete if not allowed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/-/131549630438?ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:US:1123
  2. Looked for some rules against but didn't see it. Thx
  3. Negative, haven't touched it. Left side is fine...right side is not working correctly.
  4. Forgot to mention...firmware is up to date. Thanks Seil!
  5. So, returning after a long break, I unpacked my WH HOTAS and cranked up the sim. Unfortunately, it seems my right throttle is hosed. When I push it all the way up it gives me about 70% of total travel (validated in USB Calibration). When I pull it back and over the stop it does not show a button depressed as the left throttle does. I've tried to calibrate via windows as well as the calibration tool here...anyone else have this issue or suggestions? Does the throttle use the digital pots similar to the stick? I _really_ don't want to purchase another one of these. I opened a ticket with TM but haven't gotten a response yet. I'm wondering if the pot somehow got spun in the case, but I wasn't sure if I could get to it or not. Any help is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!
  6. A couple of ritual things to make life easier: 1. Form up on the tankers wing, get used to flying in formation, match airspeed and trim. 2. When you move to precontact, if you change the trim remember how many clicks to get back to where you were when in formation w/ the tanker. 3. Put your feet on the floor (get them off the rudder pedals) 4. Remember to breath 5. Try and line up a good sight picture. I usually put the tanks engines in the canopy frame bulge. Once I move in to contact there is a cross formed in the canopy frame (see video link below - a little higher than where I am at :10 and then :40 is right on) 6. Fly the tanker (and don't watch the boom except for the green/yellow/red marker as needed) Once you're hooked up, use very small throttle inputs and remember that airspeed changes also make the plan want to go up/down 7. Don't look away while you're in contact rxpUMN_Azx0
  7. To add to what Duom76 mentions, above: 1. When you form up on right wing of tanker, match speed and trim for that speed. Take as long as you need to fly a nice formation and get everything where you want it. 2. Understand what the "picture" is during precontact and while on the boom. There are plenty of videos to show you how it should look 3. Anticipate the throttle movement. You don't have to move it far, but you do have to be ahead of the jet. 4. When you push the throttles up, the plane tends to move up relative to the tanker (and vice versa when pulling throttles back). Be ready for it with VERY small inputs 5. Don't retrim based on #4. I don't mess with my trim at all after #1 6. Put your feet on the floor and not on the pedals 7. Relax and breath. It takes a while to get used to it I also mapped the refueling door onto my HOTAS. I found that whenever I look down things went awry, so take every opportunity not to have to take your eyes off the tanker.
  8. It would be interesting to get a split screen that shows the track footage on one side and the stick movement on the other. I'd be interested in seeing the difference between the two. Hmm...how to make that work...
  9. @bengo - Thrustmaster Warthog with default curves. The zero dead zone makes this a bit more straight forward, but it's still difficult. I can't imagine doing this with the x52 though... @Tyger - Yeah, I'm not that sophisticated :) Adding music was about the best I could do which limits the audience a bit due to copyrights. My thought was "3 minutes of tension and nerves translates into 3 minutes of really boring video" :D
  10. ...for those who couldn't view the first, here is a second with no music. I managed twice the fuel this time in one very long drink. I think it's time to start practicing something else :music_whistling: jBpiiUifRFc
  11. Set the depressible pipper on the HUD to -40 (using down arrow on DEPR UFC rocker). That should align the pipper on your HUD with your TGB in A-A mode when it is boresighted. --Note: When you change master mode to air-to-air, the pipper will go away. Lock the target with the pod prior to engaging AA master mode.
  12. I just mapped every alpha key on my keyboard to the appropriate key on the CDU. It works great! (just don't press 'G' to raise/lower the gear)...
  13. LOL. I'd enjoyed reading your posts, stories, and insights over the years at Frugals and occasionally over on Avsim. I hadn't seen your name in a long time, so I figured real-life had won :)
  14. Is this _the_ Capt BBall? If so, welcome back and welcome to the community!
  15. A more interesting question becomes, how do you use rudders differently in aerobatic flight vs. regular flight? For example, if I'm going to do a 90 degree high-speed aileron roll followed by high-g turn, do I even need to use rudder at all? Do I use it to counteract adverse yaw during the aileron bank or is it even worth it? In a high-g turn, there is very little slip (if any), so do I need it there? I've been playing around with how/when to use rudders in various aerobatic scenarios, and I'm about as confused as when I started.
  16. You're welcome, and thanks for resurrecting the thread!
  17. Crank up anisotropic filtering. I had the same issue... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1043368&postcount=5
  18. Check that your BitTorrent client is forwarded on your router. I'm on a temp router and was getting terrible rates. I checked forwarding for that port, found it disabled, added the port, and now I'm seeing ~400 kB/sec down (up from ~20). If you're unsure how to set it up, try this site - http://portforward.com/english/applications/port_forwarding/Utorrent/Utorrentindex.htm Note: First page after selecting your router is an add. Link to skip is top right of screen.
  19. My comments. I even give you a track... http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1068317&postcount=12
  20. Here's a track. I tried to also put in a few TAD utilization tips. 1. Notice aircraft is on east heading 2. I typically put my map in manual mode and turn it off unless I need to see geography/topography 3. Hook something...anything (TMS Up Short). In this case, it happens be my only waypoint 4. Select Bull-CUR mode and the slew your cursor around...notice bearing/distance at bottom-right 5. Switch to EXP 1 (or 2) - China Hat Up (or forward) Short. Notice this changes orientation to north up (rather than the direction your jet is heading) so you get a more consistent feel for orientation 6. Once you find the point you're given, turn the map on your desired resolution and zoom in to get the tactical picture. From here you can easily make a mark point, set as SPI and good to go. One other note for you guys in TAD utilization. If you find yourself making multiple passes at the same target and need to deconflict with wingman attack, arty, etc. you can really use EXP 1 (or 2) mode to your advantage. Since orientation is North you can easily tell which direction to make your ingress/egress as well as see your wingman relative to you and north. I've found that switching to this view mode in certain situation is very effective. Enjoy! Bullseye_TAD.trk
  21. This is a common misconception in computer gaming. This does apply to TV, movies, etc. because they use motion blur to smooth between frames. In computer games there is no motion blur, and therefore the eye can distinguish between much higher framerates. I'm sure there is some point that the eye can no longer tell, but it's much higher than typical movie framerates. ...and I do fly at 30 fps, and I think it looks fine :)
  22. Thanks WX, I'll give it a shot. I am the guy who hates remapping his HOTAS, so I just copy my input folder from one beta to the next....I'm pretty sure I probably just overwrote something I needed. I'm downloading the full install for B4, and I'll give this a shot. Thanks!
