Lil REB Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 Good day all, my brother and I have been flying the A10C for about a year now and have learned so much, and we learn something new every time we fly, but there is one item that I cannot find the answer to, we need some guidance please. In most missions we fly, there is a plane identifier on our TAD for our planes, and then in some missions there is not a symbol for each others plane at all, we can see the symbols for the AI planes, but not each other. I have fooled around with the Mission Editor to see if I could find the difference in the missions that have them and the ones that don't but have had no luck, and through our many hours of video watching and searching, still no answer. Any help would greatly be appreciated for getting our plane id's to work once we start our planes and it isn't present, and/or setting it up in the mission editor so it will automatically show up for each others planes if that's possible.
awjudge Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Just a thought, do you have JTRS enabled? The bottom-centre switch on the AHCP panel. You won't see your wingmen if that's off.
Lil REB Posted January 2, 2014 Author Posted January 2, 2014 Yes, JTRS is always on when we have this issue. Thats whats frustrating us so much as we do nothing different from mission to mission, but some missions we have no identifiers for each others plane. I'm somewhat confident that we are doing something wrong, or different when starting the plane perhaps, but geez I sure dont know what it is. Not yet anyway.
awjudge Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Does it work in the standard missions, provided by Eagle? Is it just user-made missions where it doesn't work?
Faelwolf Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Make sure you are set to the same flight number in LAN, each plane with it's own ID. So you would both be in say, flight 1, your plane ID would be 1, his would be 2. I have not seen it set up automatically in any multiplayer mission. LAN is found on the lower right TAD screen, entries are made through the UFC, I found it best practice to set "own ID" first, then flight if needed. It won't allow two planes to have the same ID number within the flight, so setting Own ID first can avoid conflicts and having to re-enter the data.
sUrge0n Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Yeah, maybe that's the problem. Take a look here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1236040&postcount=1 There is a pdf download on the bottom of the post, which explains it very well. ENO Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 I don't think it's LAN you're looking for- it's NET. Bottom right corner of left MFCD. Then make sure you set your GRP ID (Group ID) to the same number. Hit the number of your scratchpad, then press in GRP ID... that'll put that number in place as your GRP ID. Then press in your own number on the scratchpad and then hit OWN ID. That will enter your ID. It is odd, however... since you should still see each other on the TAD even if you're not on the same net ID though not be able to share information. "ENO" Type in anger and you will make the greatest post you will ever regret. "Sweetest's" Military Aviation Art
Faelwolf Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Yes, Eno is right, net, not LAN. Pretty obvious what technical issues I've been working on lately eh? Got too much LAN on the brain! lol!
Lil REB Posted January 4, 2014 Author Posted January 4, 2014 Thanks for all the help guys, the answer was found in the NET and ID numbers.
