hitman Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Ive been trying to get this recorder to work ever since it was released, and its perplexing me.
EtherealN Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Unfortunately not, but as long as you're not specifically looking for the "shadow" function, have you checked out Xsplit? I've used that a good bit. Directly integrated to streaming solutions, and also supports saving video to disk, automatic youtube uploads and so on. It is however payware, and if the shadow function is what you specifically want it won't do it for you. hitman Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Im looking for something that is a bit easier to use than fraps, and Nvidia shadowplay looked like the best thing for me, since it saves video automatically to h.264 (or whatever). Never seen it working though. Ill check out Xsplit, but Id like to know if shadowplay actually works.
Oesau Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Yes I've been using it and it's been helpful for 1.2.7 testing - I have found however that it often (not always) records at the incorrect aspect ratio and the quality is poor. It's def good for testing but not so good for videos as the quality isn't on par with FRAPS
hitman Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 So how did you manage to get it to work? All I ever see is a green light marked out with a red line, so it isnt recording for me.
vanzant_cl Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 http://www.twitch.tv/vanzant_cl/c/3481143 (shameless self promotion) BUT! I had that problem trying to broadcast Arma 3. I have noticed that the "Manual" and "Twitch" modes are the most reliable, the dual mode never works for me. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

Blooze Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 So how did you manage to get it to work? All I ever see is a green light marked out with a red line, so it isnt recording for me. After turning on the main switch in the GForce Experience window use ALT+F9 to turn it on and off manually. I have used it to make movies from mission tracks with great results. Their latest drivers even include streaming video via Twitch. You can use auto mode as well as select quality settings and sound from the control panel. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
hitman Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Thats the thing - I have tried everything to get it to turn on. When I hit it, all I get is the green light/red slash indicator stating its not recording for a second. I wonder if its because of my monitor resolution...

hitman Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 Are you choosing settings with this button? Yes. I got it to work, finally. It was my screen resolution, apparently doesnt like a triple monitor setup.
