  1. Yes the left is the same for both E and EX The EX right has a lot more switches so isn't a 1:1 match to the aircraft that the E gets close to. I went with the EX and I've now got way more switches than I need (which isn't a bad thing)
  2. Got my T-shirt today (Australia - ) - thanks!
  3. Sounds like me flying MP now days - flying along and then boom, I’m dead
  4. Thanks - I’m in Byron Bay and haven’t got mine yet, was wondering if any had arrived down this way
  5. Sounds like a perfect use case for DCS web editor (currently it’s in beta so not openly available) - you can select groups of units and move them (can even copy and paste units from one map to another)
  6. I need to retest but had a flight the other night in the CE and AP wouldn’t activate (was trimmed out level) - then replayed the same mission and AP activated. need to work through some test scenarios and validate if there is a bug
  7. Well midway will be a different sim but we should get back on topic
  8. No idea on the missiles but recall that the pave spike pod is as remember Nick talking about gimbal movement speeds varying
  9. What happens if you press the first button (on the left) with the mouse pointer? You have to first press that button, followed by what mode you want e.g. Alt to hold you altitude
  10. Thanks @winghunter - it really is looking like an awesome additional - I really like the web viewer setup and can’t wait for the editor
  11. @winghunter - when do you expect the web editor to be publicly accessible?
  12. I’ve seen auto mapping for example with WinWing Orion 2 for the Hornet, also for my thrustmaster F/A-18 stick (even with the Virpil Warbird base) but its across all modules
  13. Another way to practice carrier landings without the a hud is just turn the brightness down on the F-14. In fact I don’t use the hud for landing the F-14, just the AoA, alt, variometer etc
  14. But hey I’m sure many people will be trying to land the E on a carrier day one
  15. 2 - I saw this today and looks to be a bug 3 - the dial won’t change with the presets
  16. F-14B ias per natops is no burner for take off, don’t quote me but believe it’s due to potential asymmetrical thrust if there is a single engine failure leading to controllability issues (due to the high power of 110s). The F-14A with the TF30s didn’t have that restriction
  17. It not perfectly aligned with the pilots eyes but this video is from the helmet perspective
  18. The title is a little misleading at first sight - what it is referring to (and if you could see the fancy video it would make sense) - it refers to the eras of HB jets e.g. Phantom, Viggen, Tomcat and Eurofighter not different eras of Phantoms (sorry)
  19. Heatblur: the upcoming field of Heatblur modules will span eras and types!!!
  20. This discussion got me looking into more info on the earlier IRST and as noted above it's difficult however I did find this (how it was presented to the pilot) as which according to the post in another forum "This picture shows the IRST of the F-8D and early F-8E"
  21. Thanks @Charly_Owl for another amazing guide - agree it’s an amazing aircraft, one of my favs (after the Hornet)
  22. Hi @PeterPan73 - best resources to learn aircraft are Chucks Guides and there's a great one (IMHO) for the Hornet - https://forum.dcs.world/topic/113608-chucks-guides-dcs-tutorial-library/#comment-113610
  23. Isn’t there a male and female voice for the RWR (need to test again but seem to remember that there is both)
  24. @IvanK are those gunsight photos of the SHAR from the world tour post the Falklands? I remember seeing Hermes in port in NZ so assume they came past Australia and the RN and RAAF “battled it out”?
