I haven't seen a USB controller that would not be recognized. As for the other, I have no idea.

if you have a cable to convert the output from the trainer port to USB device, then your DX6i will work just fine for controlling axis.

 

However, I would strongly recommend against it. RC transmitters typically don't have button commands, and even when they do it will only be one or two. For a combat flight sim like this, however, you need several more than that at the minimum.

I know in just using it for throttle rudder etc. and thanks for all the answers though guys gave me a good amount of info:thumbup::)
