Rabble Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Hi, I've been using the X65f for a couple of years now on the A-10C (and more recently on the P-51) and have (what I consider) a real good profile for the A-10C, my hands never leave the HOTAS. Mode 1 for takeoffs/landings and mode 2 for flying/attacks. If anyone would like to check it out, I'd be more than happy to share. This is my first entry into helicopters and being clueless was hoping that someone had a profile for the Ka-50 to get me started. Thanks, Rabble 1
ShuRugal Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Not using the 65F, I cannot share a profile, but what I ddi to get my x52 profile was jump into the menu and assign commands under the Cyclic Stick section to the stick where they felt comfortable, and commands under Collective Stick to the throttle where they felt comfortable. Once you've done all that, you will want to assign Autoplot Flight Director Mode, Auto-Hover, Helmet Mounted Sight, and Flare Release to the HOTAS as well.
LUSO Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I started to create a profile in SST, but I wonder if it is not prudent to do so directly in the game. 1 [sIGPIC]http://www.131st.net/ipb/public/style_extra/calltags/calltag_luso.png[/sIGPIC]
ShuRugal Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Honestly, I hate the SST software. I had too many problems with it not correctly translating commands. It's also much easier to directly set the command in the sim than it is to find out what the KB bnding is, go in SST, enter the binding, name the button.... Only thing i do in the SST is change the mode switch to function as regular buttons, then i go in the sim and program them as shift-state keys to do what i need of them.
AlaskanGrizzly Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Here is my Blackshark profile. Remember to setup your axis commands in game. I find the SST software easy to use and the upside to using it is not having to rebind all the commands if a new update for DCS resets all key bindings or when I have to reinstall a DCS module from scratch. A lot of problems can be avoided by completely clearing the default button bindings in DCS as they can conflict with the SST commands. Also, if you make changes to a profile yet the correct key commands aren't being recognized in DCS, just briefly switch to a different profile and then back to your desired profile using the Saitek Profiler icon.DCS Blackshark Profile.zip 1
danilop Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 SST has always worked great for me. I almost always do all of my X65 programming in SST. 1
LUSO Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I created the other day a profile in SST, tried solo, but online some orders was absent. I had more problems to operate some keys combinations. [sIGPIC]http://www.131st.net/ipb/public/style_extra/calltags/calltag_luso.png[/sIGPIC]
Rabble Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Thanks for the replies. ShuRugal, the water looks a bit cold, but it is probably best to just jump in. thanks for the list, that'll be a big help. I've used the X65 for IL-2, IL-2 CoD, the A-10C, and the P-51. I've always left the game setup as the default and used the SST for config. Ran into trouble right at the start getting it to do what I wanted in the sims setup, so went to the SST and never looked back.
snuffles Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 It's been tricky for me to create one lately as well. Many thanks for providing one, AlaskanGrizzly! I don't always openly list my things. But when I do, I put it in my signature.
