Warhog Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 I just purchased an Acer 23" Touchscreen monitor for my cockpit but its not reacting properly. I have a JVC projector and a 10' screen as my main display. I added the touchscreen so I could have Helios display the cockpit and I could access all of the switches. Problem is...when I touch the Acer Touchscreen the reaction to that touch shows up on the main screen and nowhere else. As a result none of the Helios switches are accessible by touch, only by mouse. :( The only way the touchscreen works the way it should is when IT IS the main screen. But if it has to be the main screen then I can't use it for Helios as that's where DCS has to start. I see touchscreens used like I want to use it so there must be something I am not aware of. Please advise if you know how to resolve this. I run a GTX 780, WIN 7 64 Pro and my display is "extended" to 3840 x 1080. Regards John W aka WarHog. My Cockpit Build Pictures... Warhog Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) go into control panel. select tablet pc settings. then setup. follow the directions. I didn't see anything in that setup that alters what my problem is. Even when I did the calibration setting it started on the OTHER monitor. The setup allows you to choose what monitor you want to set up and I couldn't even select the Touchscreen monitor. Edited January 27, 2014 by Warhog Regards John W aka WarHog. Warhog Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 when I was using a ELO touch screen I could use the screens software to select which monitor was the touch screen. Do you not have any option like that ? Nope. Been through everything I can find to tell the monitor to direct its command inputs to the screen I actually touch instead of the main screen. This is really frustrating. :( I am starting to think it can't be done with this monitor. I mean it is really stupid to direct command inputs to a different screen. How does that make any sense. Regards John W aka WarHog. My Cockpit Build Pictures... Warhog Posted January 27, 2014 Author Posted January 27, 2014 Yes, thank you.:) It didn't help at all.:( I am still scouring the internet and have come across some posts regarding the type of cable connections you may need to use. I don't know how relevant it is but I'm willing to try anything at this point. I have been using DVI and HDMI and I think I need to try using all HDMI. That means a DVI to HDMI adapter for my graphics card as it has only one HDMI, 2 DVI and one Display port. That is unless someone else has had this same issue and has a known fix. BTW, the monitor is a T252HL. Regards John W aka WarHog. My Cockpit Build Pictures... airdog Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Warhog don't take this wrong and I know you said you have been thru everything but my guess is you are still doing it wrong. You have to read the instructions during setup and calibration very very carefully as it is a bit confusing. The windows setup portion will light up non touchscreen monitors and from what I remember you have to hit enter to move to the next screen and it designates it as non touch. During Calibration you must select the correct monitor and if the calibration is only showing 4 places to touch for calibration exit out and hit the reset button you should have to touch the screen 16 times for a proper calibration. Please go to this link here and follow all the steps word for word step by step. What i've really noticed in the past with people that i have helped with this is that they don't read all the onscreen instructions on the screen all the way to the end of the sentence and don't fully understand what windows is trying to tell them. I know this because when I did it originally I did the same thing. It was as simple as I did what I thought I read but not what they(windows) were really telling me what to do.
