A trigger or an option in the mission editor that will automatically produce a waypoint or a radio call with coordinates towards the downed pilot which can be used from SAR assigned helis. Very immersive for MP and also for SP. Not pinpoint coordinates or waypoints , but an approximation. And when you enter lets say a 300m radius from the downed pilot, an automatic smoke flare ignites..then you go peek him up and return him to airbase and add him back to the airbase supply inventory.

(pilots availability in the supply inventory should be added aswell)

And then I wake up

Sorry for my bud english, I hope you understand what i mean in general..

You can turn "rescue downed pilots" to true and turn percent of crew members in vehicles that survive to 0 if you want to just use the script for pilots. I'm still feeling my way around it but it's pretty amazing.

:(

Now you made me feel like I am in a PHD conference while I only finished the high school :D

I understand that with the use of scripts, a talented individual could build a ''more than perfect'' dynamic campaign. But you really need to become a script programer to accomplish that. i just wished for a simple button and maybe a slider (for radius) integrated in the mission editor :smilewink:

Ummm... there are about 5 options at the beginning of the script that you can adjust using notepad++ (the rest can probably be left as is until you get the courage to change more)... then fly. The script does the rest.

If you just want to be spoon fed everything with 1 click then in a platform like this you'll be left wanting.

But if you're interested in a step by step I'd gladly walk you through the subtleties of getting this thing off the ground.

This request can't be fulfilled without scripting. Is that simple. The script referred by ENO is the best you can have and is deadly simple to use. Don't need a PhD for that.

Great thread, it already went in my favorites for later study. It had to be a sticky in my opinion.

Thanks for the heads up.

I was just kidding guys. OK I accept that I hate software in general ( Im an electronics engineer) and the highest level programing language that I understand, is C ansi, and only for microcontrollers :D But because I love my hobby I will definitely learn and try to produce something good for all of us hobbyists :)

by the way, I love your 25UB :)

Ragnarda does a great job at the very top of the script, highlighting ALL the areas you need to address to accomplish your objective. All you need to know is to open the .lua in Notepad ++ and edit your options in there. Again, it's all in the top half a page of the script.

Things like medic unit names, and MASH names for both red and blue... which can be changed or left the same. How much time you want your patients to have before they bleed out (again, random... with a max time option). Percentage of guys who survive vehicle destruction... whether you want them (the patients) to be immortal until pickup... (makes an extraction a bit more exciting).

You do need to have MIST loaded (just load 3.2) at the start of the mission and then load this script file about 10 seconds later...

If you're not sure how to do that I'll send you an IM- believe me... if I can do it, a plant could do it... so certainly you should be able to do it!
