Dear all

When I read the DCS news for 2016, I really have to upgrade my actual pc or buying a new one  Actual I have a Core 2 Duo E8400. I would have the possibility to buy a pc for a good price with the following config:

Intel i7 2600 3.40 GHz

8GB RAM (Kingston ValueRAM (2x, 4GB, DDR3-1333, DIMM 240))

Samsung EVO 850 250 GB

Western Digital Blue 1 TB

ZOTAC GTX-560 Ti OC 1GB GDDR5 (2x DVI and 1x Mini HDMI [incl. HDMI adapter])

Mainboard: ASUS P8H67-M (B3) (LGA 1155, mATX) (6x USB 2.0 behind - Gigabit ethernet ect)

Samsung DVD-ROM SH-118BB + 1x USB 2.0 in front

What do you think about this system? I think I should be able to play DCS in a very good way, don't I? But I would buy another graphic card, a Nvidia GTX 970 or 980.

Thanks a lot :)

Nop! The price should be very good because;

The cpu is not a "K" model (3.4Ghz is not the best for DCS). The mobo is not an overclocker. The video card is outdate (only 1GB of Vram).

How old is the SSD?

The SSD is a 1.5 million hours reliability. 5 Years Limited Warranty or 75 TBW Limited Warranty (Whichever comes first)

The 850 is relatively new, so that should be allright. I would not get a 980 though but go for a 970. You could then use the money saved for 16Gb ram If you like.

I currently do not run or have DCS. I am in the works of building a new PC to be VR ready. Not exactly sure if its enough, but I've heard DCS isn't as demanding as I would think. Just an FYI VR requires 2 2160x1200x90p. My pc plan is a I7-6700K GTX 980ti 16-32GB ram, and an M.2 drive to store OS and quite possibly dcs.

Don't forget, there is also the R9 390 which is the same price as the 970gtx. I would look into that since it has slightly more than twice the vram on it vs. the 970. which is a huge thing for this game. If I were you though I would wait until the newer gens are out in a couple of months. That may give you more options, you can either decide to go with a next gen card, or have access to current cards for cheaper.

Hi all

First thanks a lot for your help and recommendations.

After thinking longer time and comparing the advantages and disadvantages of an used computer system I am now sure to buy a completely new computer system with Core i7 6700K CPU, 16 GB DDR4RAM, 250 GB SSD, 3 TB HD and an Asus Strix GeForce GTX 970 OC GPU. I saw a very good offer for around EUR 1'450. With this system I will ready for DCS 2.0, NTTR and all the next DCS modules
