  1. Status April 2012: A brand new video with a joint operations with me and another crazy pit builder from my Squad. Hope you like it. Status December 2011: Video with BS2 and new features added in my pit. All the best to you guys for 2012! Status November 2011: Upgrade to BS2 and now the NVG bug in multiscreen is corrected (and NVG itself much improved), it was time for my pit to get also slightly upgraded for night flights! Detail on the right panel where I used an array of 12V blue leds strip: Status September 2011: Switched from BSVP to Helios from SC Simulations. This allowed me not only to get rid of my secondary networked PC, but also to display all gauges on the front panel as well as a working EKRAN. Eventhough only one PC have to run 6 screens at the same time, I am still getting 30+ fps with SIOC still running in the background to manage the leds (thanks to Gadroc for his help on this). New demo video: And one picture: Status March 2011: All leds now working in game. Cougar replaced by Warthog stick. Aluminum plates added for the floor. Better integration of the collective. Complete re install of DCS BS increased fps from 15 to 30. Don't know why, but that's really cool. New video added. (The copyright free version) Pit status on the 9th of August 2010. Hi BS fans and pit builders. I have been working for some time now on this project since BS has been available. This is my first pit and I though BS was the perfect sim to work on. First it is extremely realistic, secondly the Ka-50 cockpit is still very analogic oriented and as such, a little bit easier to build than a latest generation cockpit with fully integrated avionics and such. Finally, having the possibility to assign almost every single switch to a joystick button and being able to display ABRIS and SKVAL on separate screens proved that ED was clearly pit builder minded when they developped this fantastic sim. I had though to bet on the future of this sim, as, although inputs are easy to implement, there is nothing about outputs yet (leds, parameters and so on). I do hope that the dev will keep their word by allowing some easy data export in a future patch or dev package release. I want my pit to be as realistic as possible, but I wont go as far as Triggerhappy for example and CMC machining parts and buttons. This will be far too expensive and I have no talent for this. So I had sometimes to make some tradeoffs as I couldn't get everything I want for the parts in electronic shops. Talking about Triggerhappy, many many thanks and all credits to him for the blueprints and drawing he posted on this forum. It was extrmely precious for me to start this project. First of all, I started to build the left console: Every buttons and lever are functional but some switches for the ADF as I used Leo Bodnar's USB board for the wiring and it is limited to 32 inputs. This limitation keeps bugging me by the way and I still have to sacrifice some switches that I don't use for the sake of this limitation. I used some MON-OFF-MON switches for the radio frequencies (could'nt find anything looking like the real thing). As for the display of these frequencies, I have some other plan to display them.:D

  2. I am happy to present my second and last product of this winters holidays, the scenario Red Snow, a Russian battalion sized offensive operation against German forces. I call this a scenario, because it actually includes 3 different missions of the same operation, each heavily randomized. http://cid-f33d8b1019e6f4ac.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Public/RedSnow.zip Alternate: http://www.virtual-jabog32.de/index.php?section=downloads&subcat=64&file=1004 The basic features are: -Large scale scenario of roughly battalion vs. company size forces. Might be quite performance intensive on weaker computers. -Includes 3 different missions of the same scenario, Direct Fire Support, Flank Guard and Rear Area Attack. -A random selection of one of three different enemy defensive setups, each being a unique approach, almost makes this 9 missions total. Additionally there is plenty of randomization for non mission critical units making each try play different. -Includes a multiplayer version of the scenario for 6 players. -Features detailed ground operations including recon units and artillery. Units will often reposition on the battlefield. Defensive tanks will mostly fight from hull down battle positions, making them hard to spot and even harder to kill even for the player. -Radio calls of ground units (copyright @Gunship!) Suggestions, critics and comments are as always welcome. Enjoy :)

  3. Everything I've seen indicates that there is no difference between the DL version and the Disc version. The Disc version doesn't do discchecks or anything such - just a different install medium. There are some people around here that have all released versions (I think some even had friends in Russia mail them the Russian DVD version), so if there's some differences or advantages I'm sure they'll chime in - but in all the discussions on the board I've never seen a concrete difference or advantage to either of them; just different media.

  4. The procedure to fix the HMS reticule is described here. As Alex says, though, changing the HMS angle breaks track reproducibility. The easiest way round that issue is to write a couple of batch files: one to replace SnapViews.lua, Helmet.lua and PADLOCK_device.lua with the modified versions, and another to swap them back for the originals when you want to watch a track. Cheers, DD

  9. Hello TK. You seem to have the latest Nvidia drivers. And you're using a 32 bit edition of XP, correct? That leaves a few "classic" or rather generic things to investigate: (.. and rather quick steps to check). 1. Eventlog, Application. Can you see any crash related info for this application (relaunch and check timestamps for any app info that is relevant). 2. Eventlog, application and system. Can you see any other relevant errors / warning that may contribute to the problem? Disk related issues - graphics related issues? 3. Permission related issues. During install did you have enough permissions? Admin permission while installing? 4. Overclocking? If so, turn it off. Both for system and graphics. Reset BIOS settings to factory defaults (yes, that actually may solve some issues). 5. Healthy disk? If not, we may have corruption in so many strange ways. Do a diskcheck and autorepair by running a command prompt: CHKDSK /F C: CHKDSK /F D: etc for each of your volumes. If chkdsk wants you to dismount / reboot - do so, otherwise the check isnt complete. 6. Antivirus / antispam or other security related systems? Temporary turn it off while trying to launch. I have noticed a few people complaining about problems and their listing shows AMD processors, alltough there's no clear cause or connection to this observation quite yet. Keep us updated ;)

  10. In game settings, change shadows to full planar. This is a well known issue with all modern video cards and LO, see here :) http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=41058

  11. Do you have any Error.log or Errors.log file(s) in C:\Games\BlackShark\Temp (or wherever you installed it)? Since you said you had tried updating the SF drivers I assume you have already read this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=35602&highlight=application+requested+runtime+terminate+unusual

  12. Ok here are a few naval and air bases for you.. Norfolk naval base, Virginia, USA Homeport of the USN Atlantic Fleet - its the main US navalbase and the largest in the world. The "inventory list" counts 5 aircraft carriers, 8 amphibious assault ships, 6 Ticonderoga-class cruisers, some 22 Burke-class destroyers and 5 OHP class frigates. Severomorsk naval base, Russia The main Russian navalbase and homeport to the Russian Northern Fleet. The inventory currently counts: one aircraft carrier(not moored here though - see link below), one Kirov-class heavy cruiser, one Slava-class cruiser, two Sovremenny class destroyers, 4 Udaloy class ASW destroyers, one Ivan Rogov class landing ship and several Repoucha class landing ships. Port of Murmansk, Russia This is not a navalbase, but as Severomorsk doesn't have a pier large enough to accomodate the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier("Heavy Aviation Cruiser"), the ship is moored here. Severomorsk 3 airbase, Russia One of 3 airbases(as the name suggests) around Severomorsk - the "Severomorsk 3" is the home base for the 279 KIAP(Shipborne Fighter Air Regiment), which forms the fighter airwing of the Admiral Kuznetsov. All Su-33s in service are operated by this unit. Vladivostok naval base, Russia Homeport of the Russian Pacific Fleet. Portsmouth naval base, UK The main British navalbase and homeport to many different kinds of vessels - including the Invincible class aircraft carriers("through-deck cruisers) - one of which is visible in the satellite image. Korsoer naval base, Denmark Homeport of several "Flyvefisken class" patrol vessels, three "Niels Juhl class" corvettes and two new "Absalon class" flexible support ships - the second of which(L17 "Esbern Snare") can be seen in the satellite image.
