  1. Wow! thanks! would've never figured that one out.
  2. I'm trying to get a grasp on the loft bombing mode with Mk-82s and review runs with both tacview and DCS tracks. Problem is I can't even figure if I got the procedure right because on one hand, the DCS track shows my bombs dropping as soon as I press and hold trigger, while tacview actually shows the bombs lofting as they should after the pull up.
  3. Also make sure that your waypoint has the correct elevation set... The route tool in MP is set default at 2K alt. for example, which will have the MMS pointing in the right direction but up in the sky...
  4. Remember Sinai being a home run release, at least quality wise... Don't remember if it released in EA or as a finished product. Just went back and checked for <profanity>s and giggles, while Iraq did release as early access, Afghan did not so there's that...
  5. I don't really know how common it is for a game to release in EA and receive no updates for the 7 following months, but at this point, it just feels like I actually bought a demo and that the actual thing will come out in full eventually... Thankfully I have plenty other maps to play with in the meantime but it is somewhat annoying...
  6. I mean, no one is forced to buy EA modules... I'd rather have the option to buy them before they are finished, in the end I get to decide.
  7. On top of choosing red or blue in the server slots log in, you also have to type either -red or -blue in the game chat.
  8. It ain't me! it ain't Meee!! I ain't no fortunate one nooo!
  9. Trying to figure the map in the bottom of the pic...
  10. Thing is... the map is very "incomplete" and progress is exactly 0 since it came out... This isn't exactly enticing for mission/campaign creators... IMO
  11. I think DCS is just spread too thin all over the place. The player base is made up of a bunch of small niche groups with very different wants. Every time they put something out, it caters to a couple of these groups while leaving a bunch of others feeling like they're been forgotten about... I don't know what the solution to that is tbh...
  12. Been waiting so long for a server like this... PVP Helo and ground war. amazing!

  14. It's a sand box DCS option... If you play SP, you can use it as you wish. As for MP, different servers will apply it as they feel is most suitable for their mission. If you can't find a server with your view points, maybe you just happen to be part of the not so vast minority... As most things, I'd rather the option be available but not enforced as opposed to not having the option at all...
  15. It's not an exploit if everyone has access to the same options. Problem is, in DCS many people play for many different reasons. When an option directly affect the way a specific player plays the game, of course it feel like an exploit to him specifically, regardless of how it affects others. This is one of the major reason ED are pretty much always in a lose situation... Nevertheless... For someone to feel like this particular option is an exploit, they have to be the competitive type, in which case, the people in charge of where they play will take care of the "exploit" accordingly anyway.
  16. So Afghan will have received zero updates in 2024 after initial release... Bummer.
  17. I actually came across DML early this morning and been reading the Docs. It looks like a powerful tool, I'll be using it in the meantime I learn how to actually code LUA. When it comes to tools like DML, if it stops being maintained, would you pretty much lose it's functionality with subsequent DCS updates?
  18. Been flying in DCS for a long time and just got into the mission editor a couple months ago when I got the Kiowa. I entered the rabit hole deep enough to where I'm at a point where I need scripts to make missions work as I want them to. The last couple of weeks have actually been about asking questions on how to do things, waiting a couple of days looking for copy paste answers on the scripting end. This is really not sustainable... I'd rather understand how it works than keep asking very specific questions about very specific outcomes. I've self learned Python for data science a handful of years ago and it took a <profanity>load of time to get proficient in it. Am I looking at the same kind of timeframe when it comes to LUA code, when it comes strictly to mission coding in DCS or can I cut corners a little and make it more efficient? time wise. I will literally only use LUA for DCS, anyone got some kind of a roadmap for this?
  19. While I'm not as down as some on Afghanistan, I'd be lying if I told you I didn't tell myself "Damn... got the wrong one" when I got a glimpse of what Iraq looked like. That being said, I wasn't dissatisfied with Afghan before that release so it's more a case of a team doing an amazing job than it is about another team doing a bad one. Only thing frustrating for me about Afghan is the lack of meaningful communication. Feels like "We will tell you soon" doesn't accomplish anything useful.
  20. Man you basically took the time to write a how-to instead of just telling me the results, Thank you very much for this! You just taught a man how to fish! (like not literally, I've been fishing my whole life but you know what I mean).
  21. Ok been trying to figure this out for 3 days without any luck, closest thing I found to the params named in this thread for the Kiowa radio 5 is "VFM2_Radio"... could that be it or I'm definitely looking for "Freq"?
  22. I've posted the question in the ME forum, got an answer showing me where the args are listed but none of them involve the radios... So SRS are probably doing it in a way that cant be used in the ME triggers interface.
  23. Turns out the RMFD_R5_button doesn't refer to the radio. There's also no mention of the Remote Frequency Display in there... If anyone has an idea, thought it'd be easy to make a trigger based on what frequency a radio is tuned in, not so much...lol
  24. Thank you! Actually better for me to know where to look than the actual answer.
