  1. I was trying to complete the mosquito landing tutorial but I noticed that the view does not seem to be able to be changed. The ALT+C command works because the crosshair becomes visible for operating controls however, looking around and changing view is not responding to mouse inputs. The default view is too high in the cockpit also. Anyone else have this problem? I'm running latest OB. EDIT - it seems that pressing Numpad 5 Unlocks the view. also true for bombing run tutorial. EDIT 2 - I completed the tutorial, but each time it goes on active pause (automatically for the tutorial) the view jumps to the high cockpit view as if you're looking up through the canopy at around a 45 degree angle.
  2. Hey, I know this post is a fair age now, but has anyone had any further luck with this? I've got the same TM1637 6 digit 7 segment display. I was hoping to have a mess around with it and see if i can get it to work. I don't have any coding knowledge either, but i'll certainly have a go!
  3. Ah you're a good man! Thanks so much. Hopefully it doesn't rain tomorrow and I'll get the tools out. Finally get some physical progress with this thing. I'll add some photos as soon as there is progress! Thanks again, really appreciate it
  4. @MAXsenna It is my hope that someday Virpil decide to make one.
  5. Looking awesome! Where did you find the switch covers?
  6. How do you find it? I've looked around a bit and they seem to be the only one producing an F-14 throttle at the moment. Obviously price is a consideration and I'm aware that it's about $800 which I wouldn't mind spending if the quality was excellent, but I've heard some mixed reports.
  7. Hi Mumbles, That would be amazing, thank you so much! In terms of Lumber, plywood here I think you can get in 3mm, but more common is 6, 12 and 18mm. I've not seen 24mm advertised anywhere. I think MDF comes in 6mm, 12mm, 9mm and 18mm. We also get OSB which is oriented strand board in 11mm and 18mm. The price of plywood here has pretty much doubled since COVID. I used to get a 1200x2400 sheet of 12mm for just over £20, it's now around £40, which is just crazy, However, if that is what will give me the best quality results, then that is what I'll be using. MDF doesn't really like any level of humidity variation being as it's just sawdust held together with glue. Anyway, I'm rambling again! Hope you have a great day and thanks again
  8. Afternoon Gents, hope all is well. Finally getting around to getting some bits done for the cockpit, although at the moment, it is only drawing the panels up in Inkscape. I've completed the HUD warning light set (both sides) and most of the panels for the right side console. Currently got the Tacan and Radio left to do... Radio was almost complete yesterday but inkscape decided to crap itself and I hadn't saved it I've just made a decent little find on ebay which a CD that has full scale images of the A and B model pits. They can be printed out and measured up to give accurate dimensions on all panels, dials, and just about everything else. Its a little pricey (£45 with postage to the UK) but I am considering it. I've just been looking at the sketchUp file that Ausmumbles so kindly provided as I had hoped to maybe start on the ejction seat this weekend, but I can't quite figure out how to pull everything apart in order to get measurements. Any advice on that would be greatfully recieved I've had a flick through theis thread again today and it looks like there is being some good work done! Definitley Inspiring me to get on with it! 07 James
  9. Hi Rusky, I only have a single stage trigger so that isn't the problem, but thanks for the suggestion. I do tend to fly the Huey quite regularly and haven't changed any bindings recently, it's only since the last update. I maybe should have checked some of my other modules to see if they have the same issue too.
  10. Hey, I updated today and have been playing around in the Huey. when I press the trigger to fire the miniguns they stay on until the trigger is pressed again, rather than only firing whilst the trigger is held. I've restarted, and re-bound the control but issue persists.
  11. Hi Flappie, Yes that does seem to have done the trick, Many Thanks
  12. Hey, after the latest update i'm having an issue where on launch dcs is running, but only my desktop screen is shown. I cant use the ctrl shift esc command to open task manager, but alt ctrl del does work and this then brings up DCS. whilst desktop is showing no mouse movements are detectable and no other key commands seem to work (almost as if pc is frozen) but the title music is playing in the background. Not had this issue previously and i havent installed any other software on the pc, nor do i have any active TP mods. Log file is included and my pc is R7 3700x, gtx1660 super, 32gb 3200mhz ram, and 2Tb ssd (iirc) dcs.log
  13. After another couple of hours practice, I managed to set her down! Got 3 landings one after the other, 3 wire first, then 2x 1 wire. Jester wasn't happy but I was!
  14. Thanks a lot guys, yeah, definitley too little power and too slow speed. I've practiced a few airfield landings using the dlc and keeping the power on more has definitley helped. just done my best airfield landing ever tbh! shame the track files for the Tomcat are messed up!
  15. Thanks a lot all, that does make sense. I've been trying to do it as it explains in the pre-mission diagram but maybe fully retarding the throttle is too much. Once it stops responding to my inputs I'm guessing I'm already too slow. The speed indicator is pretty hard to read though... Hopefully I'll get used to it eventually!
  16. Hi! i'm currently practicing to land on the carrier without becoming a ball of flames and i'm struggling. I'm finding that with flaps and/or dlc activated and the gear down that she becomes very hard to control, in most cases rolling over and ending up wet. is there something i'm missing? just if i dont use the flaps/dlc the AOA indicator is showing that i'm going too fast. I got onto the deck a few times yesterday only to end up as a bolter.... didnt realise i'd snapped the hook off! Any advice much appreiciated! 07 james
  17. Hi, If it helps I've taken dimensions from the panels in the game based on the fact that the width is 145mm. They may be a couple of millimetres off from the real thing, but without access to actual panels it's probably as close as I can get myself.
  18. This is a great thread guys. Thanks for sharing all this info. I have been looking at making a collective myself but didn't really know where to start. Can I ask @FragBum did the hall effect sensor work with the Leo bodnar board and if so, was it just a case of connecting the sensor to the pins on the board? I do have a couple of BBI32s lying around in anticipation of my F-14 cockpit build, but I'd love to have decent controls for flying the Huey and Apache when it's finally launched.
  19. Heya, if you mean the switches they are bought off eBay. Sold as piano switches. There is a link to them earlier in the thread.
  20. That's looking great already Mumbles, good work. Unfortunately I'm no further forward as I've spent most of Christmas in and out of hospital and unable to get out of bed, however on the mend now, just gotta get back to work for the coins. Ive just seen this on YT. Might be of interest. Gotta say, I'd pay good money for these! https://youtu.be/7_y4C7a2R-M
  21. good solution mate, I like it. and at the end of the day, none of these pits are gonna be 100% accurate due to restrictions on parts, space, money etc. you just gotta do what makes you happy. i've unfortunatley stalled in my construction again due to issues at home... garage door was broken, lack of money, lack of time, and now the weather is horrible its hard for me to find the motivation to go into the cold garage to use the laser. It was my birthday a couple of weeks ago and the wife went crazy.. 40 different presents which included days out, theatre trips, much chocolate, japanese snacks and the main event which is an aerobatic flight in a T-67 firefly. unreal!
  22. That looks really good. Is that a skateboard/Rollerblade wheel you have used on the end of the gear lever? I have been thinking about mine and all I could come up with was using a piece of wood turned on the lathe.
  23. May be a case of making your own mate, company called Otto make a 4 way trim switch but they're £130 each on eBay. The actual switch moves up, down and forward so it's only a 3 direction, but I'd imagine those are even harder to find. I'm gonna keep looking and if I find anything I'll let you know. May look into putting one together myself too, I'm thinking momentary tactile switches. *Edit* Just found this after a bit of searching.... You could make a top for it and it would be spot on I reckon. https://www.hobbytronics.co.uk/5way-tactile-switch There is also a 4 way hat switch underneath it (for me at least) similar to the analogue joysticks in an early playstation pad.
  24. Ah that is truly a work of art.... I can't stop smiling!
  25. Obviously not that far forward myself, but is Helios an option for those inputs? I know that the Warthog project lad uses it for most or all of his inputs.
