1. Can we have the "view all pages" functionality for forum threads? Theres lots of times I want to read a 50 page thread....and I don't want to stop every 30 seconds to click to the next page. This would really enhance the forum experience here. Thanks!
2. That is actually pretty darn slick!
3. I'm sort of in the feeling that $60 is the top dollar most will pay for a quality sim. Is it worth more? Probably. I think $60 is the magic number for most people.
4. Good call. I didn't even think to consider that. I'll try it out next weekend and report back.
5. Was an active duty Army Military Police for 5 years, now reserve. For the day job I'm the lead draftsman on a UAV for the Army, and volunteer with my local sheriff's office SAR team. (Doing ground tracking, tech rescue, swiftwater rescue, and helo based rescue.) This hobby actually got me the job - for my first pit, I taught myself solidworks to design it.
6. You can find datasheets...
7. Good enough answer for me. I'm amazed they let as much as they do out here based on my experience in the aerospace industry. :)
8. Id rather not ship it back, especially since I no longer have the original packaging for it. (Tossed it in a move about 8 months ago.) Just need to get replacement parts and find out if there are any gotchas in the process. (I don't have a problem soldering SMD components if required.)
9. Haha, fair enough! They are more complex, but are the cat's ass as far as capability. Almost all functionality is public knowledge.
10. Anybody have any idea how to fix? The microstick on my warthog (2XXX series serial number) has never worked since the day I got it. I'm tired of making work arounds. How do I fixed this blinking thing? I've updated firmware several times.
11. AWESOME! That will do perfectly. Thanks!
12. Why no ARC-210s for the Warthog? Didn't want to sim SATCOM? Seen pictures of the center control interface in pictures of real A-10Cs. They are pretty damn cool radios - would have balanced all that computing power between the consoles instead of just the right console for us button pushers. :music_whistling:
13. I've modelled up all the left and right console knobs, based on the respective MS and NASM specs. One perk of 3D printing these is I can adjust the internals as approprate based on the electronics backing it. The only one I'm having a heck of a time with is the TACAN Mode knob. Can't seem to find it anywhere. Does anyone have any good information on it?
14. Huh? I'm totally not following you.
15. As I said, per the specs (NASM) I've found so far, part marking is not identified on the spec. So it is optional to the vendor, unless they are required to under MIL-STD-130 (depending on the vendor). :smilewink:
16. The real knobs aren't marked per the specs. I'm looking to build my own - I'm still working on the FA18 pit, but I can be flying an A-10 until the -18 software is released. I'm big on building it myself.
17. Just looking for the knob list for the A-10C here. NSNs would allow me to cross reference the part numbers and then out to the specs.
18. Thanks all. I actually have access to the latest specs from work (IHS) without resorting to outdated specs in EverySpec. ( The spec mentioned above was canceled on 1995.12.05 ) Working in an engineering department in the aerospace/defense industry is nice sometimes. :smilewink:
19. Looking for a list of all the A-10C knobs and handles, with the associated MS part number and NASM (or other applicable) spec. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
20. Anybody know where I can find some dimensions or models of the F-18 stick and throttle? I'm in the planning stages of designing flight controls.
21. No love on these dimensions?
22. That is an artifact from when I was going to place a 12" LCD behind each side of the MIP. Now that I am going to 5X USB 9" monitors in the MIP, it will get shifted as necessary when I get to that point.
23. Some absolutely amazing experience here. I'm impressed. I think I might have found a way to mount a 9" USB touchscreen directly in the DDI and MFCD, right behind the button bezel with the proper extension from the face of the MIP. The only downside is it will stick out the top corners of the DDI/MFCDs, but I think I found a way to at least make it unobtrusive. Is it mm for mm accurate to the real thing? No. Is it functional, with COTS displays and therefore a couple hundred dollars each instead of thousands? Yes.
24. Yes. Planning on using an LCD with teleprompter glass.
25. Tell me about it. I would absolutely kill for a F-18 Landing Gear panel.
