  1. Excellent! That's great to hear. My Thrustmaster Warthog throttle just came in today and I'm itching to play that new campaign!
  2. It's a shame. They really need to get that multi-core CPU optimization update to their engine they have been talking about in some of the interviews. I will not play this game without VR. So it looks like I won't be purchasing the Syria map for a while. I hardly use the Persian Gulf map because of the framerate stutters. Do you use either the Kegetys or speed-of-heat variants of the shaders mod? Curious if anyone has tried Syria out with that. From what you are saying, I doubt it will help much.
  3. Has anyone installed the Open Beta 2.5.6.53756 update with the shaders mod yet? I know the newest version of both Kegetys and speed-of-heat's variants of the mod have been working for the last several updates. So I'm hoping that is the case with this one as I really want the Raven One campaign.
  4. Ordering mine on the website now!
  5. Edit: Disregard - I was not aware I had to have the latest version in order to download the campaign. All good here. I have a ticket submitted to ED for this. But thought I'd post this here to see if anyone else has had this problem: I just purchased the campaign(last night) and it has yet to show up for download in the Module Manager within DCS. Has anyone else had this issue before? Now, this is the first campaign I have actually purchased. So did I miss something about how to install it? It shows on the website that it is supposed to be installed via the Module Manager like all of the aircraft, terrain, and asset modules. I am on the next-to-latest version of 2.5.6 Open Beta. Thanks!
  6. Will this be a paid campaign I presume? Forgive my ignorance as I'm still new-ish to DCS. Really just now digging into campaigns.
  7. I did what both you and MadMonty said and everything is good now. That was maddening!
  8. Awesome that worked. Thank you, sir!
  9. Is anyone else having an issue where the Comms Menu keeps popping up in the upper right hand corner(as usual) on its own and then disappears over and over again? It did not happen an hour ago before I updated and it's driving me nuts. I have checked my HOTAS, key bindings, everything. Nothing on my end has changed to cause this issue. I don't even use the Comms menu as I have Vaicom/VoiceAttack. Help!
  10. I ended up removing the mod, deleting fxo and metashaders2, terrain DCS folder contents, using the DCS repair utility and then reinstalling using speed-of-heat's mod package. Mask is back and running smooth as butter.
  11. I am not sure what your rig's hardware consists of. But I would definitely set up both your DCS system & VR settings along with the NVIDIA Control Panel settings as shown in the links that are in speed-of-heat's signature. If that doesn't work, turn things down from there starting with shadows and Antistropic Filtering. If you look in my sig, I do not have a slouch for a PC. Even with a 3090x and 2080 Ti, i can't really do more than S-O-H's settings and maintain a consistent framerate.
  12. Quick question to...well whoever: So just to be safe I removed speed-of-heat's modded kegetys shaders, cleared fxo, etc. Then updated to 50726. Just to experiment, I used Kegetys version when I reinstalled mods. So something I noticed immediately: If you look at my monitor while in VR mode, the mask/circled perimeter is gone. Did Kegetys remove that on this latest version of the shaders? I know I read in the notes that ED added the MSAA mask size option under the VR tab. But I haven't noticed any difference in performance or visuals regardless of where I set that to. I have gone from .25-1.0 and it all looks the same. That being said, everything is running smoothly aside from night flying still being almost impossible. But just making sure the "circle" is not supposed to be there anymore.
  13. Yes but they rolled out a hot fix supposedly today. So I believe that is why that is shown in the patch notes. But I will have to check it out when I get home later.
  14. I read back a few pages and it appears others are having the HUD that is too dim issue along with other lighting issues as well. Here are the two threads I found about it. So it just appears it is the latest Open Beta version: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=276609 https://old.reddit.com/r/hoggit/comments/gw49wn/dcs_cockpit_lighting_looks_absolutely_horrible/ I don't think this explains my issues with the haziness though. I sent a PM to Kegetys so we'll see if we get it figured out.
  15. No worries at all, my friend. Your willingness to help and knowledge are much appreciated. I'm still a newby after all. Lol
  16. I have a Quest but pretty sure that the Reverb still has a much higher pixel count. All I know for sure is that it didn't have the haziness before the shaders. But beyond that I have no idea. None of it is game breaking. Just game breaking at night. I launch my game via the Oculus app. Is it possible to launch via Steam VR instead? Is there an advantage to going that route?
  17. *Quoting myself to keep it all in once place* Oh and I almost forgot to say that my settings are exactly what yours are according to the thread you have a link to in your signature. Except I moved the shadows back down to medium and I am not playing via Steam. I did use the Oculus debug tool to achieve some of the same settings though and I also did make all of the modifications to the NVIDIA control panel for DCS.
  18. I explained that badly. So there are actually two issues: 1. The HUD visibility issue. Just not as bright as it was before. I would say this could be because of the HUD/MFD readability mod I installed for the F-16C. But it's also effecting the A-10. 2. Everything looks kind of foggy/hazy maybe 4 or 5nm from my cockpit in any direction. Also, when flying at night, if I look up or have the sky in view at all, it just looks like there are a bunch of blobs of haze everywhere or as if there is a blanket covering the sky. Hard to describe. But it makes flying anything at night next to impossible because of how bad that messes with my depth perception. Could any of these shaders be modified to possibly help with any of those issues? This might be a better question to ask directly to Kegetys since you are the "butcher" and all. Lol
  19. Yeah it's definitely much smoother and nicer to look at. I do have one question you probably can answer somewhat easily: Do you happy to know why my HUD is a little harder to read during the day? Everything also has kind of a haziness to it that gets thicker the further you get from my viewpoint. It seems to make night flying almost impossible. Sound familiar?
  20. The truth is that I tried out JSGME when I was already frustrated and just assumed something in the process was broken. I was doing it all manually. But yeah, I used speed-of-heat's file with the tool and it worked perfectly. So I'm honestly not sure what I was doing wrong when I was doing it manually. But yeah, this is significantly easier. Duh. Lol
  21. I was able to get your version of the shaders going via JSGME. It turns out my problems were all down to me over-complicating things. This time around, I just loaded via JSGME, did not touch a single metashaders2, fxo, or any other cache folders, and started DCS and waited. Voila! Totally good to go now. To add to that, once I knew that I had JSGME working correctly, I loaded up a couple of other mods, performed the registry edit that keeps the Windows game recording service from running, F-16C MFD/HUD clarity mod, and the terrain flat shadows mod package. That along with your DCS and NVIDIA control panel settings did the trick. It isn't like a night and day difference necessarily. But I'd say it's anywhere from 50-100% framerate improvement for sure. In Caucaus, it's a very big FR improvement. In the Persian Gulf in Dubai, not quite as huge. But definitely better. The key thing though is that I'm able to have MSAA and other settings turned up much higher. The cockpit and terrains are WAY better looking. The ONLY thing I did not end up keeping of your settings was setting the shadows to high. I dropped them down to Medium to keep it just a tad smoother in Dubai. I could likely turn it up elsewhere but I figured this is as close as it gets to a "set it and forget it" DCS global VR setting. Thanks for all the work you and Kegetys do to make VR DCS more enjoyable for all!
  22. Hold off for now, I think I got speed-of-heat's Bazar folder successfully installed with JSGME. It took about 9 minutes with the loading bar being stuck right under the sidewinder of the F-16_Block50 loading image. I'll play a bit and see what I see.
  23. I forgot to add that this is the JSGME setup/install procedure I used: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=98607
  24. Yeah I used that procedure. When I said it was vague, I meant that it no longer states anything about deleting the metashaders2 or fxo folder contents. I was under the impression that this was a requirement. But according to someone a couple of replies above, maybe it is not. I'll pose the same question to you: Do I completely replace the old Bazar folder with the entire new Bazar folder from the zip archive I download from you or kegetys? Or do you do like I stated above where you just copy the contents/subfolders from within the new Bazar folder over into the contents of the game installed Bazar folder then overwrite/replace items with the same name? Jesus, I hope that made sense.
  25. Yeah I have seen that stated both in this thread and elsewhere several times. To be fair, the game performance is not horrible right now by any means. But if I could just get a tad bit smoother framerate without crappy textures and jagged edges while also maintaining a great visibility distance, I'm happy. I absolutely love DCS either way. I'm kind of addicted. It appears I'm not alone...
