  1. @Rhino1938 I was going in circles like you, until I deleted everything Steam related. I had Windows Mixed Reality for Steam - deleted it. I had SteamVR - I deleted it. Rebooted the machine, then opened the windows store and down loaded Windows Mixed Reality. Double checked the OpenCompiste tool, to make sure I had OpenXR selected. Rebooted one more time, tried it and it worked. THEN, I installed the Toolkit. Hope you get it running -
  2. @DishDoggie This is a great tip. I just installed SkySpaces and set it to the empty room. Makes perfect sense, why have all the high poly content running while playing DCS. NOW... I have to figure out which one of the 800 new settings that you can mess with in the OpenXR toolkit, to improve things. Thanks, -john
  3. @Dangerzone Go back to the main page, https://gitlab.com/znixian/OpenOVR/-/tree/openxr The scroll down to the Reporting a Bug section. There is a link to join the Discord server. After you are in the OpenComposite discord server, go to the General-help-wmr section. In this section, there is a pinned message at the top, with the file that you can download. Try that-
  4. @hammer1-1 I finally have it running. I think my main problem is that there is a Windows Mixed Reality for Steam and just a Windows Mixed Reality. I got stumped, and decided to delete both steam products, then found just the WMR and installed that. Now I'll look at the OpenXR Toolkit. thanks, -john
  5. @Hammer1-1 That's what it sounds like. But it looks like I downloaded the wrong OpenCompositeLauncher. I just downloaded the correct file. I'll install it when I get home after work. So with the wrong launcher running, it makes sense, not starting in WMR and only in VR. I'll update when I get the new launcher installed tonight. thanks, -john
  6. @Rhino1938 I went to the discord page for it and they are aware of the issue, so hopefully it will be fixed.
  7. @M1Combat DCS was configured to start in VR. But, after I did the repair/check thats in the instructions, I didn't check it... No - wait, it must still be configured, because when I start DCS - it then fires up the glasses & windows mixed reality. But I'll double check things tonight. There is also another issue... downloading OpenCompositeLauncher. The link isn't working, so I hacked the link (thought i was being smart) and I might have dowloaded the incorrect version of the Launcher -(you can read the discussion I had with Mac4ps - above). The link still isn't working... so guess I'm stuck until we can download the OpenCompositeLauncher. thanks-
  8. that... I don't know... the original weblink on the page is this: https://znix.xyz/OpenComposite/runtimeswitcher.php?branch=openxr I just removed ?branch=openxr and it worked.
  9. @mac4ps I had to figure this out last night, use this link (I had to edit the link from the page). https://znix.xyz/OpenComposite/runtimeswitcher.php this is immediately offer you the zip file to download.
  10. I just found this- "...tried opening DCS, but all it gives me is a desktop window in the cliff house/city house. How the hell do I actually get DCS rendering in VR?." they answered - "Just install windows mixed reality in steam, then when you start DCS it will start in VR mode. Windows mixed reality app comes on automatically and so does SteamVR." So maybe OpenXR is not running after all?? I did tell Windows Mixed Reality to start with OpenXR. I will troubleshoot more, when I get home tonight.
  11. Hi Hammer, I just got to work... But, I did find a youtube video showing what I'm talking about. This link starts at the point he is talking about the desktop. So when I start DSC, it ends up full screen on "this" desktop. I can start DCS and it works, but it's in this environment, running on this floating desktop. It was late last night when i finally got OpenXR running, so I'll spend some time today and see if I can find anything. thank you for your time.
  12. Hello, I have everything installed and running, with no errors. Just one issue. Previously, with Steam VR, I would start up DCS and Win Mixed Reality would start along with Steam VM, the glasses would turn on - and eventually DCS would fill the glasses and run. But now, after everything has been installed. When I start DCS, Windows Mixed Reality starts, I'm on top of the roof over looking the city and I see a floating desktop. On the floating desktop is where DCS now runs... I don't get a full screen experience of DSC. It's on the virtual desktop, on the roof. One other thing I've noticed, is that my Windows Mixed Reality setup/config screens don't look anything like what I have. Mine is a windows dialog (like) page that comes up with just a few generic settings. It's like you are showing a newer version than I have. How can I tell what version I am running? Thank you for your time and help john-
  13. I have it working now. this should fix it. thanks-
  14. Hello- Is this still a current solution? New to DSC with VR and I'm having this cross eyed issue with the Odyssey+ I've tried to install the ImGui and Visualizer files from the 2019 'solution' and it just locks up DCS, a slew of errors on start up. Replace these two files with the originals and it starts up fine. Is there anything current to help with this issue? thanks, john-
  15. @Rudel_chw - Understood. Thank you for the response.
  16. Hello, I'm using the Thrustmaster TWCS for my throttle and I'm trying to work through cold starts. There is no engine cutoff position on this throttle. It's either idle or max throttle. Is there a way to map a keystroke for engine cut off? I'm just learning the A-29, it looks great so far. thank you for your time and help. john-
  17. I never considered that (obviously) - smile Maybe to an external drive. thank you for the suggestion. john-
  18. I just purchased the Syria Map and this option would be nice. The map is 64 gig. I could easily download this at work. It would be nice to be able to download a "package/product", move it to a flash drive and then take it home (where DCS is installed) and install it from the flash drive. Versus having to download a 64 gig file at home over my 100mb broadband connection. Thank you for your time, john-
  19. This looks good, looking forward to giving it a try. Navigation is what I'm working on now.

@Calabrone @DishDoggie I think I have FINALLY figured out landings.... I can reasonably land within the same county now... hahaha. -sob, this has been painful. I'll keep working on it... but it's all slowly coming together. Huey's !!!!!
  21. @cfrag I just wanted to thank you for this trainer. I'm a new helicopters and still learning the basics. Aside from hovering, I've used it to explore, practicing slow controlled taxis down to other aircraft, pedal turns around parked aircraft. Taxing sideways too. Exploring off the coast has been fun too. It's a content rich environment that helps with practice (instead of just a long empty runway). thanks again, john-

@Calabrone Hi, and thank you. -and you are not kidding, at least for what I see now... it's an everyday practice session! THEN, I can John Wayne it like @DishDoggie ! -when in reality, I'll probably just barely be able to deliver the mail and maybe drop an air conditioner unit on a roof, if I'm lucky! - hahaha But, none the less, it still looks like a blast. john-

@Mordants I had to do a quick how-to with the mission editor, but I have it all figured out now. Making the V of cones and moving the controls window to the lower right of the screen, has really helped get a feel for keeping things steady. thanks again for the help, john-

@DishDoggie Thank you for the welcome and I'm looking forward to it. You guys make this look so easy, so smooth... I wanna do that, how hard could it be? HAHAHA.... But, the challenge is fun and I know I'll find that secret "Hover Button"! - smile thanks, -john
