Nothing wrong with 30-40 FPS, that should be perfectly smooth, turn off your frame rate counter and enjoy  :joystick::pilotfly:

So is Hex Core (six core) Intel have out now. I have a Quad I7 920 DO @ 4GHz and a Dual E8400 @ 4GHz.

Saitek are reporting the issue is with ED's software today on their help forums. I must admit they have a point, the dual throttle works in other sims including the original Lock On, its just the new hardware set up screen in DCS Black Shark and Lock On 2 that does not recognise the second throttle. Hope it gets patched soon.

I'd love to see a DCS Harrier, Brit or American varients, it would take some flight modelling to do it right though, come to think of it, its never been done even half decently in any Flight Sim to date ... But I love the Harriers, my late Dad worked with the early GR1's with the RAF in the early 70's at our posting to RAF Wildenrath in Germany and at some weekends I was allowed on the base with my Dad to see the maintenance work on them. The Eurofighter Typhoon is a good call too, multi national and we are a multi national user base, its a highly capable multi role aircraft and has roots in Flight Sim history with one of the best simulations ever with DID's EF2000, everyone loved it. You'd be surprised how accurate the flight systems used in DID's EF2000 were, even at the time I can remember when it was previewed to the real aircraft designers they were blown away with it ... so much so that the MOD asked DID to work with them on there own Military training software. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of DCS Typhoon ... cant see it happening though :(

Are you blind :) Look at those legs! She can be my Wingman, anytime :P

Just the normal Win7 or XP update, maybe you have it already and never realised if you are set to automatic updates ... check your update history. I have found that Windows updates seem to be staggered, perhaps by location and to spread the server load (not that these are big files) and some users don't get the same updates at the same time, apart from critical updates.

As long as it takes would be about right.

What make and model of LCD is it?

DCS Air Hostess please.

There is a rumour CH is working on a controller set up for the military and it might go on to be a public release is what I've heard, never heard anything about it being an A-10 set-up, that's Chinese whispers in effect I think.

Your English is fine. I'm still learning Black Shark myself, but I'll get back to you on this. I found I adapted to the X-65F very quickly in conventional Aircraft, from FC2, FSX and even Rise of Flight, its so much better than my X-52 pro and Cougar, Helicopters in FSX were a bit difficult to control, mostly because of the stiff throttle I think, but now that its loosening up a little (they are apparently all like this from new) its much better and I don't need to swap HOTAS for FSX Heli's anymore, need a lot more experience in BS before I can say the same for sure though, for this sim.

I found mine centred slightly left of centre, but there was a Saitek X-65F HID and USB download available on Friday for Windows 7 and XP on Microsoft Update that seemed to cure that, its good to have a slight dead zone on any stick though in my opinion. Bottom line ... My X-65F centred perfectly after that MS update even without a dead zone.

I here what you are saying. Without dumbing down the high fidelity, we are probably not going to see two seaters in this series for AI to do the second job while the Human swaps back and forth... or they could implement two seaters and limit the sales by the requirement of only letting the sold aircraft be manned by two humans in co-op, as much as this idea is appealing not many would do it I reckon? What is the official ED stance on this, have they commented? maybe they can make the AI sophisticated enough to be believable for dual seaters for one Human pilot to fly. Most of the time we have to make do with AI opponents and even wingmen and we virtually die or fly by that and they are every bit as important. As mentioned, lots of sims have done it in the past, SE III, Fleet Defender and more. I digress, anyway ... I guess this thread is stickied for a reason though, and that's because ED want feedback good or bad and even in-between. Going by results so far, it looks like we will have an F-16 after the A-10 ... not my first choice but I'd still buy it. But Boy oh Boy, if it turned out to be a Tornado GR-4 :joystick: Cheers.

Nought wrong with having fun, even in elite serious Flight Sims :)

I'd be willing to buy something like this, especially a laminated version you could draw on and wipe clean. -
Advice on a forcefeedback stick to be used with BS.
M31 replied to Kaptein_Damli's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I must try and source one of those MS FF sticks. I doubt MS will be doing anything like that for a long time at least, since Steve Balmer took over there have been lots of cut backs in Microsoft Gaming division, Aces axed along with FS11 and Train Sim 2. You can say what you like about Bill Gates, but he was a staunch supporter of Flight Sim. -
Perfect stick for A-10C from Thrustmaster?
M31 replied to some1's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm looking fwd to the TM Warthog and DCS Warthog of course. I bought the Saitek X-65F last week and love it, in Flaming Cliffs 2 (now that I've got used to force sensing) it works wonderfully and is very precise and in all the other sims I've tried so far including Rise of Flight. I have a TM Cougar hall sensor modded, well used, paint flaking off, the Cougar was far from perfect upon release as a stock unit but I'm sure TM have learned lessons from this. Also have a Saitek X-52pro that is about two years old, really like it for FSX helicopter usage, its mush better than the Cougar in this respect, though I'm slowly becoming accustomed to FSX Heli's with the Saitek X-65F now as well. Still have my old gameport TM F22 pro HOTAS as well for an older Win98 P4 machine for older classics when I'm in the mood. I feared when people were talking about the TM Warthog being an exact replica of the A-10's stick that it would only have one hat, three buttons and a trigger, that's what the stick in FC2's A-10 shows, but looking at the TM site just now it seems to have multiple hats that a simmer really needs, perhaps there is a multi hat Cougar like stick on newer real A-10's now? I'm not sure. Good to see it will have Hall Sensors, hope the gimbal mechanism for the stick is better than the Cougars, maybe an evenstrain style design? the Cougars stick innards really let it down IMHO. Looking fed to it. -
Thanks. I've just come back from SimHQ to catch up on what is happening, one of the developers does seem to have went AWOL, but the sim does seem to be ongoing, albeit in skips and jumps while they work on more profitable stuff (is the picture I'm getting) I hope it does come to fruition, that video clip looks fantastic.
-
Is this true? I'd not be surprised, it seems years and years since I first heard about it, watched some slow drip fed screen-shots on SimHQ and that was years ago, was suspecting back then it was vaporware. Pity if it is, I'd love a Falklands sim with Harriers. Anyone remember Target for Tonight? it went the same way unfortunately ... it was way too ambitious, manned searchlights in multi-play ETC

Here's my current desktop, used the print screen function in Win 7 and resized to 75% in Paint, its lost a lot of quality? Screen res is 1920 x 1080 BTW, did not want to make the file too big, but you get the picture :)

At least he's thinking about it :) Oh how I wish this could happen!

Sorry m8, I'm a bit of a collector of this stuff (still have my TM gameport F-22 pro HOTAS) and I also have a couple of high end PC's, the Cougar is permanently on the second rig and I'd like to hang on to my X-52pro ... I'm not entirely convinced about FSX helicopter usage with the X-65F yet (everything else is perfect) but for FSX Heli's I cant fault the X-52pro, its even better than the Cougar for this. That sounds good, I'll have to try it next time I'm in the Dundee area. Cheers.

My wish's: Tornado: for some serious mud moving and low level flying. Hind: When this was mentioned earlier in the thread someone responded with "getting data on this would be difficult or impossible" or something, well ED did OK with Black Shark didn't they :) Also I have fond memory's of the older DI sims of these aircraft, the mission planning element of Tornado was worth the price of the sim alone. It probably will be an F-15/16/18 though, they will sell more and I guess I'd still buy it ... but one can wish.

Sounds like you have been very unlucky with Saitek, but you are in a tiny minority ... can understand how you feel cautious though. As well as the Cougar and X-52 pro I've got this Saitek gear too and it all works perfectly, as you can see I'm a bit of a Flight Sim controller nut and I'll likely get the TM Warthog too once it comes out ... I did try the Logitech G940 and never liked it. I actually live in Elgin now, used to live in Aberdeen and Inverness, its been a long time since I've been down to Dundee, often go to the RAF Leuchars air show though.
