  1. Agreed ... Its a classic
  2. Brilliant stuff, thanks for sharing. How do you download them, save them to disc?
  3. Bang on. That's the way it seems to me.
  4. As we can see, the Tornado lives on in Simulation history and love of us, the sim buying public. If ED don't tackle twin seaters soon, then you can be sure someone else will ... ED have a monopoly on military jet sims now, but that could change in the future ... They should be looking to build on the complexity of the series IMHO, and not resting on laurels ... even if it is an American two seater jet. But I'd still like it to be a Tonka ... multi national, multi role for a multi national user base. Cheers.
  5. That's not my built model, the kit parts picture is :) Mine will be a RAF 617 Dambuster Tonka from my local RAF Lossiemouth base, but it will look something like that.
  6. Did (sic) You really play Digital Integrations Tornado and Desert Storm add on? I don't think so, somehow. It not letting go, or clinging on, its a reminder from the old school what we like and why we are passionate about it. The more I get into the series the more I want them to to do a two seater, of course that could be a Tornado, but it probably wont be ... but at least we try. BTW ... I'm building a 1/32 Tornado GR4 model kit as a shrine to the local RAF Lossie Tonka's. Here are my kit parts so far including my hacking away the wing parts to make way for resin slats and flaps. When its finished it will look something like this.
  7. Ummm... unless there is a patch I've missed somewhere? The Saitek X-65F is still missing the dual throttle function, BS too. Why are we still talking about this?
  8. Thanks for your service.
  9. I can live with that. What about the Flaming Cliffs series, and even the old Lock On sim? and future stuff? I mentioned a while back that I asked for this in Lock on development years ago, and the answer was simply no. Well, nowadays all rudder pedals have individual Toe brakes, its about time, don't you think? These are supposed to be accurate simulations. BTW ... The Saitek X-65F is still unsupported in dual throttle usage in BS and FC2 ... (Its absolutely fine in the old Lock on) I've spoke to Saitek who say they have spoke to ED who say they have spoke to Saitek, and so on and so forth. Its not much fun being Piggy in the middle while they sort it out or not, and being the last to know!
  10. No Hurry or Worry. Its the Saitek X-65F dual throttle patch I'm looking fwd to most :music_whistling: Individual Toe brakes to if possible :music_whistling:
  11. You Tube NATO harrier stuff again. Harrier GR3 this time, but totally awesome stuff from the Cold War.
  12. Actually ... I meant the bigger picture ... the much bigger picture.
  13. Heck ... if Ed can patch in left right tow brakes for rudder peddles, they can patch in the dual throttle usage for the X-65F HOTAS.
  14. LOL ... Sod all the Europeans thought's on this project, the multi faceted work from afar ... Give him what he wants :) LOL.
  15. Me too Eddie, what do you do in the RAF out of interest at RAF Coningsby? My Dad was an RAF 21 year serving guy ... as an RAF brat kid of the RAF we saw RAF Akrotiri, (Cyprus) RAF Topcliffe, (England) RAF Machrihanish, (Scotland) RAF Wildenrath (West Germany) Finally for him ... RAF Kinloss Scotland and our family birthplace close to Inverness. They were mostly 3 year tours, so we got to understand a lot of different countrys and live with them (for three years) I miss them all ... as a kid I lived at RAF Macrihanish with American kids based there at the same time ... we had great fun together, same as the local German kids (By then I was about 13 to 16) so much more fun ... I barely remember our three years in Cyprus though. Apart from ... we lived in Limasoll in Cyprus, my Dad who was always a keen astronomer, woke me up ... he was saying this is important you have to see it ... it was the live moon landings. Bless him ... and I'll never forget that. and have carried on my Astronomy interest thanks to him. Hence my user name ... M31 is the Andromeda Galaxy.
  16. All this talk of what will come after DCS A-10 got me thinking, how long can ED keep producing new aircraft that are compatible with the old ones before technology takes over and far better graphics and processing power is available and the series would need to be started from scratch? This is not a complaint of any kind, its just an observation. Falcon 3 managed to add Fighting Tigers, Mig29 and FA/18 Hornet before calling it a day, Flight Unlimited managed Flight Unlimited II and III that were compatible with each other, MS (until recently) had to start from scratch every 2 or 3 years with Flight Simulator ... and there must be other examples. It could be that we have reached or are nearing a plateau in graphics and processor technology and this could help the longevity of the series? certainly we seemed to have with single core speeds and current silicon technology and future sims will need to take advantage of multi core CPU and GPU's. Don't get me wrong, the graphic engine in the DCS series is fine by me and I'd be happy with it for years, but sooner or later someone will push the boat out in this area and people will want the same or better. Meanwhile I wish ED all success with the DCS series ... I've been away from military flight sims for a long time and it was BS and FC2 that got me back ... its good to be back in the saddle again
  17. Yup, RAF Lossie and nearbye RAF Kinloss as well as the local community are bracing themselves for MOD cuts, The Nimrod MR-2's at Kinloss are now gone and the MR-4 aint ready! a ridiculous state of affairs. The F35 JSF was slated to go to RAF Lossie as well as carriers in 2016, but I'm beginning to think its a bit of a white elephant ... I doubt we'll see it up here now, even if it does go into production.
  18. I don't think its UBI that needs the support? They are the publisher who push small company's like whoever it is that made SH5 by saying "it WILL be released on xx:xx:xx date ready or not" at least that's what I've heard. Its a pity this happens. I'm going to keep my eye on SH5 though, from what I last read at Subsim it does have potential once its patched properly, a few community mods would be nice too ;) meanwhile I'm still quite happy with SH3 and Grey Wolves mod.
  19. Throw another shrimp on the barbie :P oops wrong country :music_whistling: Now back to the scheduled moaning about waiting for the patch ... but not from me
  20. I live next door to RAF Lossiemouth and it sure looks like Tornado GR-4's flying from there nearly every day :smilewink: The home of the current 617 Dambusters no less. Ewan McGregors brother Colin used to fly GR-4's with 617 and still lives in my town. I'd love ED to do a Tornado.
  21. I think it would be a good idea, I'm always upgrading and looking to sell or swap stuff related to this hobby.
  22. I bought a 60GB OCZ Vertex SSD about six months ago to test the waters and love it, about two months ago I flashed it to firmware revision 1.5 to take advantage of TRIM in Windows 7, as an OS drive its absolutely brilliant, currently using a 300GB Velociraptor for FSX and 2 x 150GB Raptors for games. Its amazing how quick this comp boots up and is ready to use with an OS SSD. I was about £190 for that drive back then so that's a very good price for the Intel one. I'm looking fwd to adding more SSD's in the future as capacity's go up and prices go down. Apart from low load times due the the low seek times, SSD's have several advantages, low power consumption due to no moving parts, silent for the same reasons, shock proof, all these make them ideal Laptop drives as well, also once the drive does eventually die (mine is guaranteed for three years) they remain read only so that you can still get your data back. Mechanical drives are going to become a thing of the past sooner than we all think.
  23. Width 41 CM Depth 32 CM Distance between pedals 21 CM The pedals extend about 3 CM beyond the base plate at the extremes of travel though.
  24. I have SH 3 and the Grey Wolves mod and still play it from time to time, was interested in SH 5 upon its release as it deals in the same era, but after reading the review on Sub Sim I'm going to wait until it matures with patches and mods before buying. I hope it gets the above treatment, apparently it has not sold well, Amazon have it for sale new at £12.98. http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/B002U0KBT8/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1270644935&sr=1-1&condition=new EDIT: Recently watched Das Boot on DVD again and thoroughly enjoyed it, pure atmosphere.
