  1. Is it possible to run DCS on a local server without internet access? I know the clients need to check in occasionally for licensing permissions, but can you multiplayer if you're running a local server and two local clients over a local network? Also I assume the server doesn't need to be amazing spec, i.e no powerful graphics card because the clients are running the graphics, not the server. Or am I wrong?
  2. I had this same error. Run a clean and then a repair; fixed it for me.
  3. I fixed this issue myself. It won't work unless the Saved Games folder is on the C drive.
  4. Did you resolve this - I have the same issue.
  5. Edited, fixed it myself.
  6. So far this would seem to be fixed here too. Good work ED devs.
  7. The Win7/8 Comp mode seems to work for us too, but honestly it's too much of a PITA to do. It's actually quicker just to exit the sim after each mission and reload DCS from the desktop than it is to wait for the extended loading times that occur with Comp mode turned on. However, at this point I'm just going to bite the bullet and reinstall 2.5 on all three machines until this is fixed.
  8. Well, I spoke too soon. The R9 has still not crashed. But one of our R5s is now back to crashing on second mission load. The other R5 will run and run and run, no problem; they are both identical machines, same DCS, same Win version, same everything. The only difference now is that the machine that isn't crashing had a fresh install of 2.7 and then upgrades to the current beta - the machine that is crashing had an upgrade from 2.5 to 2.7.
  9. Well, it's been several days and a shedload of missions since my last post, reboots, and neither my R9 rig nor either of our R5 rigs has crashed since installing the latest beta update. So, I have to say that I think this is fixed for us, but we didn't do anything other than install the latest update. I know we definitely are NOT running the latest NVIDIA drivers because I am firmly of the opinion that if something isn't broken, don't f*** with it where software is concerned. We are running a few mods, we run multiple modules, multiplayer, single player, custom missions, standard missions, instant action ... nothing seems to break it or make it crash now; it's been 'stable' since the most recent beta update, with or without any of the fullscreen on/off malarkey. Our specs for the record, all running 2.7.0.5659 1 x Ryzen 9 3900X / 2080Ti / 32GB / Strix X570-F / W10 Pro 2 x Ryzen 5 3600X / 3060Ti / 32GB / Strix B550-F / W10 Pro
  10. Oddly, since my last post and despite no changes, we have had no more crashes on any of the three installations, despite multiple missions/reboots etc. Nothing at all. In fact, this morning we ran a series of missions with a well-known YouTube channel, all running the latest 2.7 beta, and the whole lot was filmed and the whole time I was thinking "It's going to crash in a second", and it went without a hitch. So, for us, for the time being, it would appear to be solved, but I haven't done anything to fix it other than install the latest patch. There was one crash on both our R9/2080ti and one crash on one R5/3060ti, and nothing since - no Win10 updates, no other software updates that I have noticed. I expect that's across 20-30 missions loaded, been in the ME a bunch of times ... zip.
  11. We have three machines running DCS 2.7: Ryzen 9 / 2080Ti / 2.7.0.5659 - crashes at second load Ryzen 5 / 3060Ti / 2.7.0.5659 - crashes at second load Ryzen 5 / 3060Ti / 2.7.0.5659 - has never crashed on 2.7 second mission load. Both the R5's are identical in every respect. The only difference between the three machines is that the R9 and the R5 that crash both had 2.7 complete installs. The R5 that does not crash simply took the update, rather than the entire download of 2.7. I don't know if there's anything in that, but it is what it is.
  12. HI folks. I was an avid flight simmer in my youth, but as with many of us, family and life got in the way and I had a long time away from flight sim until lockdown last year gave me time to kill and kickstart an old love. As such, I found myself getting into DCS last summer in a big way. At the same time, i was also looking for a new business venture, and I decided to dive into offering a simulation experience commercially. Last month, we obtained a commercial licence from ED to operate two DCS installs commercially, at our premises near Cambridge in the UK. We have two motion simulators running DCS and a race car sim (Assetto Corsa, if you're interested), that work off a 4DOF motion simulator, coupled with either 43" screens or, more importantly for immersion, VR. I'm not blowing our own trumpet, but we think it's pretty amazing. The sims can be linked, so a pilot in the Huey gives motion to a gunner in the Huey, for example. We have been open for business in the UK since 12 April, and I'd like to showcase some of our videos here on the site (if this is not allowed, please remove/delete the thread or move it where it's OK - thanks!). We have most DCS modules available to fly including F18, F16, F15, F14, AV8B, Christen Eagle, Yak52, Huey, Gazelle, Spitfire - and terrains including Syria, NTTR, Persian Gulf and Normandy. Operated with a combination of Virpil pedals, Thrustmaster Warthogs and Virpil Warbird bases, along with SimShaker simseats and the latest HP Reverb G2 headsets, if you want to try DCS with full motion simulation please do pay us a visit!! Some videos below, also check out our YT channel as I am adding more every week. Website: https://www.vr-sim.co.uk Comments welcome.
