  1. I work as forest engineer and I tell you in the forest with normally dense canopy usually you cant see anything flying above you. You have to be in a quite wide clearing to see target for enough time to take a shot.
  2. Fellow simmers, I will give you gold worthy advice, that I strangely just haven´t noticed on any flight sim forum. Beside good Hotas and proper curve configuration; IF YOU WANT TO FLY MORE PRECISELY, BUY A BIGGER SCREEN. Seriously, I recently replaced my 21“ monitor with 42“ LCD TV. In AAR you have to constantly make small adjustments in order to stay in position for refueling. On 21” monitor you see changes in formation of your A-10 and the tanker in millimeters, while on 42” TV these changes are seen in centimeters. I was quite good in AAR on my 21” monitor but big TV made AAR almost easy. Another example form DCS Black Shark. I love to fly under the railroad bridges :) I would say that more than 50% of the attempts on 21” monitor ended in a crash. The first time I tried to do this on new 42” TV I did it 5 times in row without crash. Senses of speed and distance are on another level and so the immersion is.
  3. A Quick question. Are trees now finally colidable?
  4. After 3 weeks pause, I flew again in A-10C. I have installed Free-Track solution for 64bit version and works great. samtheeagle, thank you very much!
  5. Warthog needs helmet targeting just like desert needs water. It a little stange that they did not include this feature in the A-10C upgrade. TGP is very powerful sensor but so slow when you spot something and you want slew TGP on the spotted thing. Just a simple reticle (like one in Ka-50`s HMS) would make great difference in speed of target acquisition. You see something suspicious on the ground and in the next second you have it on the TGP.
  6. I found big canopy frame of A-10C to be quite bothering. It obstructs forward view alot, so it is harder to see tanker and fly perfect formation.
  7. Ka-50 Fascinated (Bought without hesitation) A-10C Little less interested (I will buy to support EDs efforts, probably I will play it less than Ka-50) F-18C The most interested (I will buy it ASAP) Next...
  8. It was Strike Commander.
  9. In my opinion there should be some kind of warning label (like on cigarette boxes) on every copy of DCS BS. On the label should be written: "THIS ATTACK HELICOPTER SIM DOES NOT HAVE COLLIDABLE TREES AND ENEMY CAN SEE YOU THROUGH TREES AND HIT YOU THROUGH TREES". It is not fair to us combat sim fans. Nobody could ever expect such major flaw in a attack helicopter sim :no_sad:. Trees and forrests are just to much important for heli sim. I would never buy DCS BS, if I knew that. There is no more fun for me in combat flying.
  10. I feel like many others on this forum that I must share a sad, sad story about tree issue in DCS Black shark. Just to ease my soul  First of all; I like low altitude flying very much. I saw many videos and screenshots of DCS BS and I thought to my self "This sim is a musthave. I will be able to fly really low and fast, I will use nice made trees and forests as a cover to fly near target, pop-up, shoot and use trees as cover to RTB or transfer to another location and repeat the practice...". I was not even a fan of ka-50. Frankly I found it quite an ugly chooper. But a wish to simulate flying low and hideing behind terrain and trees to commence an attack was to big ;). So I bought english box version of BS. I learned to fly BS pretty well. I must say that I am still amazed how superb is flying of ka-50 done in DCS BS - a pure joy. I Congrats to ED team . I even start likeing ka-50s shape. Then I finshed my first campagin and many single missions. During combat flying I have experienced quite some strange shoot-downs of missle or AAA rounds hitting me through dense forest. Unaware of tree issue I went to this forum searching for an answer to this anomaly, and then... I was shocked . I was thinking: "This I cant be possible, after all DCS BS is the most advanced attack helicopter sim ever". I have read every single thread hopeing to find patch, mod or something to make trees collidable and enemy not being able to see and shoot at me through trees... no luck  For the sake of holly mother, what is the point of making a combat helicopter sim with flaw like that. I have read all the anwsers from ED team pointing out that tree issue isnt so significant for the realism of sim :music_whistling:. I can say only OMG. I have strong feeling that I bought cat in the sack . I wonder... DCS A-10C is on the way. Its another low altitude flying aircraft sim. Will this DCS module still have this trees major drawback due to an old engine limitations?
