  1. Thanks TekaTeka hadn`t seen that comment specifically, although it would still be nice to know if that size includes videos and everything.
  2. Dmut, yes I knew about that but the impression I got from the following thread on the Russian forum was that even if you take into account that the original game is included in the CIS version there is still a lot of new data to be included which is why I asked : http://forum.lockon.ru/viewtopic.php?t=3096
  3. From what I can figure out from the Russian forum the CIS version of 1.1 is coming on 2 cd`s mainly because of new content (around 800mb) and also due to the fact that there are now video intros for the new campaigns. Are these assumptions correct and if so when we get the download version for the west will absolutely everything be included or are some things going to be removed to ease up the download size and bandwith required ?? Any comment from the devs on this would be great. Thanks, Lobo
  4. Re: Russian Forum:Version 1.1 being prepared for distributio Looks like those in the west will have to wait at least another week for 1.1, the english documentation is not yet ready: http://forum.lockon.ru/viewtopic.php?t=3055 Lobo
  5. A message posted by Valery Blazhnov today (28th) says that v1.1 is being prepared for distribution now with final checks being done on the installer, copy protection etc etc It seems that the developers are now looking to v 1.2, at least thats what I think he said as my russian isn`t that great so anyone who is a better translator can have another look: http://forum.lockon.ru/viewtopic.php?t=3033 Lobo
  6. Same here - in fact, only a few minutes ago I discovered this strange building. No idea what it is, but it looks cool ;) I also found another building with a sign in Russian on top of it - it looks like it says "КИНОТЕДТР", but putting that into an online translator didn't work. Any of the Russian-speaking forum members care to tell us what it means? :) It means Cinema although the reason you weren`t able to translate it is because you`ve spelt it wrong Д=d, it should be an A.
  7. Well the FSB frequency is 533 MHz. 512kb L2 cache and 1mb L3 cache on each CPU and the video card is an ATI x800 XT PE. The newer Xeons go slightly higher in all these figures so they may perform slightly better. In terms of CPU usage I haven`t really looked into it, but just checking out Win task Manager when LO is running generally shows a 30 - 40 % load on the CPU's.
  8. Re: Intel Xeon question My system is a dual Xeon 3.06 one. LO runs ok, nothing spectacular though. I get fairly steady framerates although don`t know how much of this is dependent on the CPU rather than the GPU.
  9. Video now working Video finally appears to be working now, downloading it as I type :D
  10. The latest official comment seems to be from the developer Valery Blazhnov on the Russian part of this forum on the 9th of December. Here is the translation of his post via babel fish "The record of training- tracks is practically completed. This means that the reliz- candidate of version 1.1 already on the approach. Thus far everything works completely decently. If the final short stage of testing passes smoothly, then reliz will leave to gold in this year and it can prove to be in sale to the new year. If or in publishers any serious unforeseen circumstances arise, then release will move on January of the following year. In any event, we are interested to let out version 1.1 as soon as possible." Of course this was in response to a question about the boxed version so don`t know how it reflects on the download ver. Lobo
  11. I wasn't offended, trust me :) You won't even BELIEVE where I got the whole vodka thing. I read this book by a guy writing under the pseudonym Viktor Suvorov called "The Liberators: My Life in the Red Army." He's allegedly this guy who defected back in the Cold War and he was an officer in 3rd Shock Army on the Group of Soviet Troops in Germany. The book dealt with his experience in the "Glasshouse", a military jail while he was a trainee, and with the Czechoslovakia invasion in 1968, and with the 50th anniversary of Soviet Power military displays in 1967. It's a fascinating read. The vodka scene in my Sacha missions comes from a meeting between a Major Zhuravlev of the 6th Guards Tank Division and a Major Rogovoy from the 35th Tank Division when Zhuravlev takes over a bank in the center of Prague. It's the best military black comedy I've ever read. I'm sort of plagiarizing Suvorov and paying him a little tribute at the same time :D .... I'm really pleased that you all are enjoying Sacha's adventures. Miao, Cat First let me start by saying excellent article, but as we are talking about alcohol I have to point out one teeny inaccuracy, the Turks call it raki not arrack :D
