Found another way to get a fuel prediction (at least for the hornet)... Selecting a waypoint and going to FPAS gives you the fuel prediction (or just looking at HSI using boxed waypoint and/or TACAN)

Just found out that the "WATCH" symbol is for displaying the year of the mission... So only leaving question no. 1 ... Great! Thanks!

Hey everyone, tried the search function here in the forum but cannot find any information about it. 1. what does the "COMBAT" button do? What's it for? 2. what is the "WATCH" symbol for? Thanks for your help!

Trigger on "MISSION START" does not work... why?
Cruizzzzer replied to Cruizzzzer's topic in Mission Editor
Thats a great advice! Cause just till now I clicked through all the triggers looking for the right one! I am just learning all the triggers and they pepper the missions. It's so much fun using and creating scenarios. THEY give the mission the flavor. Before that my missions were just too static... Learning every day... Thanks for all the help! Appreciate it!!! Yeah! Just right now -
ah well... I'll do it just by averaging the fuel flow...

Hey everyone, is there an easy and automatic way to find out how much fuel an aircraft (F/A-18C) is going to burn while flying a special route in the ME. (Without doing any performance calculation). Of course, it would be considering that the pilot wouldn't do any crazy maneuvers enroute. So only flying via the starting point, all the waypoints and landing at an airport, nothing fancy... Or would you just let the aircraft be flying as AI and go "fast forward" while trying out the mission? Thanks for your help!

Trigger on "MISSION START" does not work... why?
Cruizzzzer replied to Cruizzzzer's topic in Mission Editor
Now that is PERFECT! It did the work... Thanks for your help!!! -
Hey everyone, I am pretty new on working with triggers. Now I ran into the problem that on "mission start" a trigger does not work. I want a "wav"-file to be played on mission start, but it just does not. Is it because of the missing "condition"? Just got no clue... Anyone able to help? Thanks!

Don't know whether it applies to the scenario, while you wanted to trim. For example you cannot trim the ailerons while autopilot is ON. Maybe that is the case... Try to trim while manually flying. If it doesn't work, then it could be the keybindings as "Ziptie" pointed out.

nope... still doesn't work as wanted... message is only displayed once...

guess I found a "workaround", as it works now...

Hey erveryone! Since yesterday I'm exploring the "trigger system" of the ME. Before that I only did some basic static missions and now I am trying to explore the for me unknown terrain of triggers. Now I ran into the problem, that I am trying to setup a simple 3 player multiplayer mission. What I want is that, whenever a player joins a message will be prompted... Unfortunately I cannot get this to work. I tried different triggers, but nothing works. I tried the trigger "at mission start", but then no message is displayed at all... The only trigger that displays the message ONCE is the one of the screenshot. But it is prompted only once... I want it to work, whenever a player joins. I presume the problem lies in the "trigger event: no event"... but I just don't get it! Thanks for your help!

Landing Approach Speed Chart for 402 Engines

Thanks. Good to know... -
Also the youtube channel of the grim reapers is a perfect source to learn... (3534) FA-18C Hornet: Setting HOTAS Joystick Controls | DCS WORLD - YouTube

I believe, that "diving" directly into the hornet's weapons system is hardest, cause there are so many things to consider (A/G, A/A, TPOD, JSOW... whatever). Of course it's the most fun blowing something up... When started flying the hornet I jumped directly into weapons, and that was too frustrating. Stepping a few steps makes it lot easier, cause if you just don't know what all the buttons and switches do in the cocpit it's just a hell of a time... I would rather start learning the hornet doing startups (cold&dark), doing patterns on an airfield. Then moving on to taking off from carriers, doing case I afterwards. Then case III landings. And not to make it not too dry, load up some sidewinders (easiest to use) to blow something out of the sky. Chucks guide is pretty good way to learn the hornet. But of course, if there is someone who can help you out (flying a mission) would make it a lot easier... maybe just start flying some trainingsmissions in dcs and then move on flying with someone who can give you a "helping hand"

Landing Approach Speed Chart for 402 Engines
Cruizzzzer replied to Cruizzzzer's topic in DCS: F/A-18C
yap, same here. just don't believe that there are major differences. Only thought that someone had the exact data Unfortunately cannot find the A1-F18AC-NFM-200/210 anywhere with all the performance data... -
yap, right... you (equinox) assigned 1X... in the mission briefing you wrote 21X. that was the problem when I do missions, I write down the data in parallel to avoid this... but anyway... things happen, and we always learn from this... good that it works now! cheers

look at my first post in this thread (SAT 09:39)... I only bound the TCN to the tanker in order to work... this has done the magic
-
Hey everyone! After I got hit by enemy fire I lost both generators on the hornet, thus losing DDIs, HUD and AMPCD, leaving me only with standby instruments. Interesting scenario as it pushes some system knowledge concerning flaps, gear and some more... Now, there is no big deal, as I got the Landing Approach Graph for the 400 engines... BUT... Can anyone provide the "Landing Approach Chart / Graph" for DCS 402 engines, like in the attached file ...? Would be great! Thanks!!!
-
Pete is right!!! In the briefing info you wrote down TACAN SHL 21X, but in the ME the TCN assigned was 1X. As I only changed the TCN binding to the tanker I didn't check the briefing info of what you have written. So just dial in 1X A/A and everything should work... Things happen. Some things are minor but have a major outcome... Changed the briefing info to "Tanker KC-130 TACAN "SHL" 1X... Now you should be having fun with refueling. Cheers! F-18C Training - Refueling.miz

Just had a thought and dont mind me asking: When trying to receive the tacan, do you set up and select on the ufc "a/a"? Cause this is the way to receive an airborne tacan. If not doing so, you wont receive a signal

Weird... gonna look at it tomorrow...
