  1. Hello everyone, I just recently installed the Supercarriers, and I must say I'm astonished by the interactive ground crew animation - simple awesome!! Now my question is, how can we hear the LSO calls, like "you're too high", "you're too low", "call the ball", "wave off", etc.? May I have missed setting the radio frequency? On the new Russian carrier, is there also LSO audio or a working FLOLS lighting system? Thanks!!
  2. Hi everyone. I just download the Hornet yesterday, and I'm very happy with it. But up to know, I had my graphic settings set to High, and I was getting a steady 60FPS which is very ok. With the Hornet, keeping the same settings, I get a drop down to 30FPS when I'm on the ground, and on the Supercarrier full of parked planes and animated crew. When I'm on the air I get back my normal 60FPS, specially over sea. Here are my specs: intel core i5 7400 3ghz geforce 1060 GTX 3Gb 16Gb RAM Windows 10 64 bit I know I'm a bit short of memory on my graphic card (3Gb), this might be the problem. So to keep my steady 60FPS I will have to compromise some graphic settings... Anyone has an idea of what might be the highest demanding setting on graphic memory, so I can start by reducing it on the game settings? On the other hand, I didn't even start fiddling around with the graphic card options, I have everything on the default application controlled... so any advice is welcome. Thank you in advance.
  3. Nope. Maybe that is why...
  4. This makes sense, thanks for the clarification! It's on the list... :smilewink: This now leads me to conclude that every time a new DCS plane module is launched my DCS install will grow a few Gb either I buy it or not... :noexpression:
  5. I noticed this too... I replaced the "old" Russian carrier with this new version on the Su-33 missions, but I noticed the flag pole and the fence only disappeared after the first landing... there should be a away to configure this correctly.
  6. Looks awesome... but I see an fps counter on the top right reading 16fps... Is that flyable with 16/17fps on the deck? I saw the fps rising after take off, but still I wonder how it is to land in a crowded deck like that... Or does that fps refers only to the movie not the game? I setup I mission with a flight of 4 F-18s AI's taking off. All the animated ground crew was there at the 4 catapults, and I got 30fps on the deck on the external view. I wonder how it is if I'm inside one of the planes in multiplayer (I don't have the F-18 yet)...
  7. Anyway, if the "beta" label is annoying (and doesn't correspond to the reality of the current module), we can just edit the entry.lua file for that particular aircraft and remove the "beta" on the version line... Just keeping it like this: version = __DCS_VERSION__,And that is it, beta label is gone.
  8. Yes, those Icons...
  9. Hi all. I just installed the F-15C and the Su-27 standalone aircraft from FC3 (I don't have FC3 though, only these two planes). I noticed the loading icon for these planes is labeled "beta"... I thought these were "old" aircraft, now I also noticed a thread about development... Can someone explain me what is going on about these aircraft? Thank you.
  10. Doesn't look bad... if we the arrestor cables work, and are animated, it's ok... I mean, it's not the primary feature of the Supercarrier package, so it's fine.
  11. Yes, I understand the thread issue. I'm new to DCS, and I'm particular interested in the carrier ops, and thinking about buying FC3 or instead, just purchase the F-15C and the SU-27 standalone versions, then the Supercarrier with the Su-33; I don't think I will ever use all planes form the FC3 package. That was the reason of my question. By the way, the Supercarrier also includes a Russian carrier doesn't it? Doesn't it have the same features, like the crew animations and all that?
  12. Hi everyone. The Su-33 that comes with the Supercarrier package, is it the same model as the one from FC3? Thank you!
  13. Ok, now its clear. The details on the FC3 page do mention an "extended eastern Georgia terrain", that was why... So those 1.17GB might be most of it, if not all that it takes. Thanks to all.
  14. Well, I'm looking at the DCS folder structure... FC3 includes Eastern Georgia terrain, that might be in your <root>/MODS/terrains folder... The default Caucasus folder is 16.1GB in my install, so I tend to believe that those 1.17GB might be only the aircraft... can you please check your terrains folder? I don't know how large is the FC3 terrain, but sure it should take some GBs...
  15. Thank you for your answer. If the all the planes liveries and the terrain (and all other objects) textures are in that folder that should be roughly it... those are usually the heaviest files.
  16. Hello. Can someone please tell me the hard disk space requirements for this module? Thank you.
  17. Ok, lets say roughly 3GB total. Guys, thank you very much for your answers, much appreciated.
  18. Hello. Can someone please tell me the hard disk space requirements for this module? Thank you.
  19. Thank you very much. That was what I was expecting. and yes, liveries are usually the heaviest files of these packages. Much appreciated.
  20. Hello. Can anyone tell me how much hard disk space is required for a module like the F/A-18C Hornet? The system requirements described on the modules pages seem to be general for the whole DCS installation, and doesn't specify exactly how much extra disk space is required for the modules. They do specify the extra disk space required for the maps, but not for the aircraft. I'm a bit limited on my SSD capacity, so I guess I will need to make some choices. Thank you.
