  1. It would be hard to find someone who could accurately answer your question because there are a very small amount of coax rotor helicopters like the BS. I believe only Kamov and Sikorsky's prototype bird are the only coax rotor helicopters out there. I've got a few hours stick time in a UH1 Huey and it was a great experience and I can say the translational time from moving the stick to the bird actually changing attitude is similar to what we experience in BS. Other than that, its apples and oranges.
  2. I noticed when doing an auto hover at takeoff even at 20-40m high I get a steep pitch back and the helicopter goes nuts. Sometimes it feels random where one attempt will work just fine and another I have to disengage immediately and try again. All attempts ares done at 10kph or below.
  3. Normally I use autopilot when flying in a straight line. But when in combat where I need to maneuver when using rockets or guns, I use flight director. FD gives me the stability features the autopilot channels provide but without the 'fight' the heading and attitude feature provides when FD is off.
  4. On second thought, Einstein's suggestion isn't that bad... just not as dynamic as I would of hoped, but nonetheless has potential.
  5. After reading the manual it looks like the Fac message is just a text message trigger you make yourself, not giving coordinates to input in the PVI-800. Again, this method is probably not used IRL.
  6. What object would be considered an 'observer group'? Having trouble finding it.
  7. Pub 3-09.3 is a military publication on cas support, here's the link.. http://forsvaret.dk/FLOS/Documents/APS%202010/jp3_09_3.pdf
  8. Alright, that's all I needed to know, it makes sense.
  9. Ah, you're right, I should rephrase my question... Dcs A10c will feature a jtac/forward observer roles that will be able to run targetting coordinates to the cas. My question is could such a feature be ported into blackshark in any form?
  10. After hearing SimHQ's interview with Wags confirming the new CAS support system in the upcoming A-10C, would there be potential to port that system to Blackshark, provided such a system exists IRL?
  11. FAC FTW... wonder if they can implement something in Blackshark..... Oh, I am SO getting the Warthog stick :-D
  12. The Warthog will be using magnetic sensors.... might be worth getting :)
  13. I think many people are itching for a high fidelity Carrier Ops multirole Aircraft, Russian or American. But for the F/A 18 still having lots of classified details, probably wont come to light :(
  14. Anyone notice, or maybe it's just me, but when starting up the number two engine after #1 is running idle, it sounds like the sound just starts over again, the same quiet as #1 spools up as opposed for the running #1 engine and hearing another layer of noise spooling up.... kind of hard to explain but hopefully someone will catch on what I'm saying.
  15. I do have the V4, should of clarified that at first.
  16. Just as the title says, thinking about paying $150 for the newest version. Specs seem very nice, but is the performance that much better?
  17. That's what I was afraid of... :( The only situation where the play becomes an issue is when in a SU35 landing on a carrier (spent 5+ hours of nonstop practice landings before finally getting it ok... lots of headaches but learned a whole lot... just wished Russians had flight point indicators like NATO birds) Nice pit BTW, you've redefined the word envy!
  18. Hey Cougar owners, I noticed that the free play at the center point of the stick is becoming a nuisance. I read the post on Cougarworld about fixing the problem and after some experimenting with gluing parts of a thick zip tie to the pitch gimbals, hasn't solved too much. I feel that the only way to fix the issue is to replace the framework the stick is in. Any suggestions to fix the problem? Thanks!
  19. In the UH60, you do spool the engines before opening the cutoff valve. Think about it, jet engines ignite fuel through a mix of air and pressure, if fuel is sucked in before the compression is right for initial combustion there would probably be a big flame of unburned fuel coming out the back. Hope this helps.
  20. That did it! Strange because I thought I already updated to the new drivers. Thanks!!
  21. bump. Trying to find targets, especially moving ones is very difficult to do in an aircraft moving at 400kph with no a/g radar. Suppose it's the way it was in these early generation aircraft but its a gamble to find a target in the su-25t.
  22. Hey guys, I read that if you add targeting data in the mission editor, it will appear in the HUD. Thing is, I don't see it after adding the targeting data in the mission editor. Does it only apear within a certain distance? That TD would be very useful since hunting for targets is pretty tough slewing a narrow TV screen at high speed. I was about 30KM from the target at 1500AGL. Thanks!
  23. +1 to everyone. Big thanks to WAGS and the entire ED team. Only since reading up on development and interviews with Wags with Jane's F/A-18 where I was more excited for a release of a game/sim/pretty much anything.
