  1. I see. Last time I buy something while on strong pain killers(and Canadian Whisky...). I will not insult anybody by asking for a refund. Live and learn.
  2. I purchased both A-10a And the Su-25 modules today. I not sure what I paid for, I mean, there doesn't seem to be a scrap of difference between what was the Su-25 before and after I paid for the modules. And yes I went to the module manager and installed both. Any thought on this? Alan. PS I seemed to have made a mistake in the header but I can't correct it; should read buy and not bought. Sorry Tx
  3. At last! I can fly that thing smoothly! Tx for the post! I purchased the Shark from the get go and I was forever struggling with it. After reading this post last night, I decided to really put efforts into settings my G940 properly (and assigning the collective brake to my throttle) and use the autopilot channels and the flight director, route following etc the way they were intended to be used. Now I can fly around, follow a route, attack a target, whatever! I can't believe how screwed up my understanding of this bird was. And to say i'm a real life pilot! (fix wing). Dude, you made my day! Thanks again!
  4. I love cynisim when it chooses the right timing with the perfect tone...
  5. Exactly! We seem to repeat past mistakes over and over again. Germany went down that road in WW2 when they produced the Tiger tank. In the end, though it was one of the best tank fielded during the war, it didn't change the outcome. they where expensive to built, it took more time to built, it took more raw material to built. For the same price of a Tiger tank, they could built four tanks of lesser "caliber". Case in point: the were never more than a handfull of Tigers at any point if time and place during the conflict and although one Tiger could be responsible for the destruction of dozens of ennemy armor, in the end, they were swamped. And another thing: no matter what people think, no one weapon is so far in advance that it will remain unbeatable for any leght of time during a war. Its been proven time and again in the long history of human conflict. Why do governments have to re-learn this lesson the hard way every time is beyond me.
  6. Ok, In your main DCS directory, i mean where your DCS files were installed (mine was on my disc "D") go there and you are going to see a bunch of files still remaining even after you did an un-install. get rid of all that stuff and re-install from scratch. It worked for me. Al.
  7. Oh son of a b... that's right.
  8. Yep, like louisv says, this way i didn't have to reprogram my stick/throttle/pedals again. And louisv, i lived 7 years in the Montreal area... Al.
  9. Well, sounds like the same probs i had: make sure you REALLY deleted ALL remaining files and start from scratch. And it's worth it, stick with it, any complicated sim is bound to have more complicated issues from time to time. That's why i love forums... Al.
  10. Ok! Following instructions from members here, i manualy removed remaining folders after i un-installed DCS World. There is still quite a bit of stuff left there. Annnnnnnnddddddd: it worked! I re-installed DCS World then KA-50 and A-10 et voila! Got my favorite sim working again! Tx for everyone's input! Al.
  11. Ok then Chris, i'll try that when i get home tonight. Al.
  12. Oh yeah, i know all that, i had everything installed before (1.2.0) it's when i tried to update to 1.2.1 that all the problems began.
  13. Hmmm, odd, i don't see any modules in the add/remove programs.
  14. Know what? I don't think i'm doing this properly: I can see the DCS WORLD un-install, and i proceed, but i can't find any un-install for the modules so i assume that by un-installing DCS World alone will un-install the modules. I'm wrong i guess, so where are the un-installe exe. for the modules then?
  15. Ok, what have i done here? I Installed DCS World, KA-50 and A-10 1.2.1 (after uninstalling) and now when i try A-10 i get no cockpit and a/c falling off the sky with gear down and systems off (quick mission, airborne) when i select KA-50, the sim crashes.
  16. Looks awsome and exiting but, i can't find the tracks to play and how can i fly it? Please don't tell me i have use the mission editor, i could never make this @#$&^%$#@ thing to work.
  17. I'm gonna answer this but pls, this is a very complex sim. You should read the manual because this is basic stuff. In your start up menu, there is a icon that says "Encyclopedia". Click on it, and from then on it should be very easy to figure out the rest. Al. OOPS! I meant "encyclopedia"!
  18. Everybody needs to come down here. Someone mentioned that the Harrier might be one of the most vulnerable jet around. I just pointed some facts. Most of ther responses i read have nothing to do with facts just speculations. Argentinian pilots repetadly said that they had a very hard time to spot the Harrier due to it's small size and relativly smokeless engine. Some Harrires came back with hits in the hydraulics, avionics, control systems, fuel system and even in the bleed system. Mixing Harrier and B2? Stealth design has nothing to do with surviving battle damage. And i don't know ANY airplane that will survive a hit by a missile (we are talking about small jets here, not huge bombers, so lets not start another fruitless debate). This was not a debate about what or who was better equiped during the Falkland war. There are facts out there that shows that the Harrier is has good has any other combat plane in the arena (we are talking combat damage here), nothing more nothing less.
  19. During the Falkalnd war, The Sea Harrier and the Gr3's were actualy capable of sustaining quite a bit of battle damage. A lot of times, they came back from a mission with multiple AAA hits. As for the radar cross section bit, the Harrier is one of the smallest fighter jet around and is quite hard to detect visualy and on radar. most of the Argentinian pilots that were shot down never knew they (Harriers) were there. Also, the techs working on them said that they were fairly easy to repair and that they had a very high rate of servicability. I'm not trying to bash you but your statements are way off. Plus, virtualy ALL jets are not armored, only the dedicated kind, purpose built close attack a/c are (SU-25, A-10, ect..) No hard feelings i hope Al.
