Hi! My key still doesn't show up in my module manager but my Mig works perfectly well. I made sure everything was updated but to no avail. It bugs me a little (pun intended). Any ideas?:helpsmilie:

I had a saitek and it caused a large amount of BSOD. I ditched it and never a problem after that.

Lol! Thanks! We had quite a bit of respect for the "Flygvapnet" by the way. I loved the way you guys landed Viggens on streches of highways!

I get ya. What i mean is it's always a mistake to sit back and relax and figure your equipment is so advance that you will never get in trouble. So what they were saying (intel) is complacency plus a Mig 21 with a good pilot in it was a sure way to get your butt shot down. Reminds me of another story here. When we got our Argus CP-107 (sub hunter patrol airplane), they were simply unmatched. Even the Americans envied us. Then one day, they were not so advanced. In fact, every other country seemed to have a better sub hunter. But during training exercises we kept having better results and find super silent subs and "kill" them. I'm talking US subs here. Of course they wanted to know how we did it. it seemed we relied more on good 'ol tactics and they relied to much on state of the arts electronics. they admitted they became arrogant and complacent. it was a good lesson learned and the reason why countries have to train all the time for war: so we don't underestimate our adversary and we don't get all nice and comfy we our new technology. And come to think of it, look at the Zulu wars. The British army got it's butt kicked by half naked warriors with bow and arrows and spears while they were sporting Martini-Henry Mk I–IV. The British eventually prevailed but not after suffering heavy casualties. Anyhow, the Mig 21 module is awesome!!

Exactly! Intel warned us (RCAF) about the 21 back in the 80's. A lot of Warsaw pact countries were still using it back then and they told us to not underestimate this little beast. I remember this guy during a briefing saying something like "anyone who thinks the Mig 21 is obsolete is going to have is ass handed to him in a one on one if the pilot of that Mig is any good". We started flying the "Bug" (CF-188) around that time and HQ thought we were getting a little too arrogant.

You betcha!!

Well i clicked under my throttle but you can decide what you want. just click under keyboard in front of say, flaps up. Click on "add" and then choose which key you want then click ok. Easy as pie.

Don't use the "flap joystick" ones. There is the normal "flaps up", Flaps take off", Flaps landing" right beside them. I have them mapped to my G940's throttle button. Works fine.

Take a look at this. Very possible for a Mig 21. Edit: the pilot's name: Ahmed Kamal Al Mansouri.

Good God! Me too!

Leatherneck, you are incredible and awesome !!!!!

+1!! Very impressive module. I suspect it will become the future reference to which others will be judged. The Mig-21 is my favorite plane right now (Mi-8 for helo). It was well worth the wait. Congratulations Leatherneck! I will purchase any modules you guys come up with! Alan. -
Well that's just about sums it up in clear concise manner so i guess, humor aside, IT IS the best answer.

:megalol:That's got to be the best answer ever:thumbup:

It's not the damage model but rather how easy it is to get hit. From experience, it's not THAT easy to hit an helo with a machine gun or a canon (non-radar controlled). Most of the time, soldiers can't hit a barn when it comes to a fast attacking chopper. Of course, it's a different matter when you actually have to land troops in a "disputed" area. Then you are, for all intent and purpose, a sitting duck. Ask my brother.

Why do some helos take off from runways?
silverofx441 replied to McBlemmen's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
I'm sorry but at an airport or FBO, choppers have very different routes and altitudes for arrivals and departures than fixed wings. The rolling take off is purely because of weight issue as specified. -
The coolest ad featuring an Mi-8!

Can someone tell me who they fly for and where was the video taken? The shoulder ranks look like Russian Air Force but I don't really know right? -
DCS: MI-8MTV2, What do You Think?
silverofx441 replied to H-var's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
One of my favorite. I love Russian aircrafts and let's face it: the market is flooded with US planes and choppers (that said without malice) wetter you fly just about any flight sim. It's nice to see Russian stuff modeled to this level plus I rather fly "older" planes. All in all, I great thing for me this Mi-8! -
Success!! Tx a million Skull! I can't believe I never got around to it before! Yes British Columbia is breathtaking plus tons of high quality work. I am grateful I live here and i'm teaching this to my kids. Tx again mon ami, Alain.
-
Merci Skull! I'll give it a try today! Yes it seems fairly simple now. Tx again. Oh and by the way my ancestors are from Île de Ré but that was 345 years ago! Merci beaucoup, Alain.

Tx Skull! Don't worry about the weapons: i'm all set. Je me debrouille tres bien avec les systemes Russe. A plus! Alain.

Ok I downloaded every skins I could find. Now how the heck do you select a skin in fast mission? I never got around to it after all these years and even after reading ( or trying to) the manual, it's all very foggy for me. The mission editor can be quite daunting for someone who never used it (like me). Any pointers? Tx, Alan.
