  1. Ok I figured it out. Thanks to whomever posted the command line update
  2. Umm. How do I tell which version. I am just using the updater and it says I have the most current version
  3. No update for me still.
  4. Hmm I already have 12 dollars of bonus but... .. none of it can be used to purchase the Spitfire.
  5. While trying to beat my high altitude best of 37502 feet, I noticed something even more interesting than the sudden puff of contrails. I had the plane nicely trimmed for about a 1k/minute climb and was intently watching the gauges as we all know we must to avoid sudden engine failure. I think I was at about 28 thousand, and everything look SO good that I decided to look around a bit and enjoy the view. There I noticed, in the deepening azure blue of higher altitude, that I could see... stars. Not just one either, but entire constellations. Now, I am not a real pilot, despite wanting to be one since I was six. Is this common? Programming error? Hallucination? I swear the O2 was on.
  6. I got a nice email newsletter thingy today from Eagle D talking about the latest version of the P-51 sim. Now, it looks like the one I got a few days ago is still the latest based on the .EXE. The current .EXE I have ends in 63205. Is this the latest? Anyone?
  7. Thanks for all the responses guys!
  8. I have been around for a bit and really love this sim. I have been a sim jockey for years and I love the challenge. My first sim memory dates back to MS Flight Simulator in the mid-80s. I started enjoying DCS A10 awhile back and began with no pedals, and an old Saitek throttle/joystick combo (I think it was the X.46?) That stick set died on me and I moved on to the X51 and had a blast with that, but always drooled over the TM Warthog and pined longingly for the TrackIR. Well, I finally decided that life is short and I likely will never get the wife of 30 years to let me get a pilot's license, so I plunked down the cash on for the Warthog, the TrackIR and even got a decent set of Saitek pedals. I almost paid Kinkos a fortune to print out the manual, but my conscience caught up with me, so I spent a lot of time practicing with the training missions and printing out useful cheat sheets here and there to make using the controls more second nature. I am looking for a friendly bunch of simmers to share the air with and get better. I saw the post with squadrons listed, but a few I tried are either no longer, or not taking members, so I thought I would fire a shot across the bow, so to speak, here. Moderators, if this post violates any rules, please remove it and do not punish me too harshly. Just thought I would test the waters and see which groups are active.
  9. Seral #: 07360 Location: Earth (well, ok, USA, Virginia)
  10. I had to make sure Aero was not disabled, or my mouse would not work properly AND the desktop Widgets would "bleed" through.
  11. I have one LED out on one of the bottom toggles. Thrustmaster said they would fix it provided I sent the unit in and at my initial expense. It has to go back to Canada too... gah. I think I will just live with the burned out/inop LED... but I am disappointed that such an expensive item left the factory with a likely defect, and that getting it fixed will require many hoops to jump through.
  12. What he said.... come on Trev.. play nicely please.
  13. They sure have saved my bacon a few times when I unwisely came in a bit too hot :)
  14. Ok, so glad you got that worked out. What did you do to make it work? Do you not need plug in your NAT'd IP address? I might set a server up and would like to head off as many problems as possible.
  15. Do you have a static IP address or a dynamic one? In either case, I think you need to know what your externally visible IP address is. You can go to www.ipmonkey.com to check your visible IP address. However, if you have a dynamic IP address (assigned by your Internet provider) know that it can and often does change over time. I have not set up a server for the sim yet, and I could be very wrong on this, but I think you will need to know what IP others see. There are other things you may have to do as well, but I think this is a good start.
  16. All I can seem to do is walk left and right with the Z and C keys :) Also, the crew chief would be upset if I wasted a perfectly good ejection mechanism...
  17. I had to post this, since it is a reflection of both my lack of ability at present with the sim, and also my determination to not die once again after getting hosed by the enemy. If you look carefully, you can see the look on my face is a mixture of relief, disgust, and amazement. :megalol: Now if only I could figure out how to get out of what is left of my beloved A10...
  18. Many thanks for all the help and suggestions. This is still the best community on the planet!
  19. Hmm an iPad. My wife would kill me, but that would be an awesome way to have the manual handy while flying
  20. Oops ok I found a tidbit in the FAQ which says a printed manual may be available at a later time. I am assuming that means the retail box contains only the disc. Sorry for posting without fully reading the FAQ  Thanks sobek!
  21. Ok, potentially dumb question incoming. I want to get DCS: A-10C, but was going to wait for the boxed version. However, I need to know if the boxed version contains a printed manual. I checked on the cost to upload and print a color copy of the manual and it was $350 bucks at Kinkos. If there is no printed manual in the boxed set then I will just download from the site and then figure out a way to get into my iPhone. Any help/info will be greatly appreciated.
  22. I got a new one this week on eBay...$114, new. The prices have probably come down at many places because of the new X65 stick.
  23. I found a X52 Pro for $114.00 I will have it Friday and give it a go. I am disappointed, but I have wanted this stick for awhile anyway.
