  1. You will need to apply the trackirfix first. Then open FreeTrack and make sure you have the TrackIR output selected. Start you camera and centre the view. Now open A10c, go into options>controls, if its working, you will see an new column for it. You will not really need to change much in the game as it will assign all axis correctly. You will however need to setup FreeTrack for your own configuration. Easiest way to do this is to run A10c in Windowed Mode so you can see both screens side by side (better with multimonitor) then adjust the sliders to the desired sensitivity. Say on the Pitch Axis, when you look right up, you should be looking up on the game, when you look down, make sure you can see all controls etc...... MAKE SURE YOU SAVE THE PROFILE WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED. Thats it, return A10c to Full Screen or however you had it before and enjoy what I found to be one of the best things I have setup on my PC. :joystick:
  2. I did try that but got an error saying "incorrect file or permissions" (or something of that nature) Maybe its something else then but it worked fine for me last time. I'll give it another go.
  3. Yeah, silly me, I did spot that a little after posting but its lacking in DCS A10 stuff. I'd start populating it if I wasn't such a noob - :helpsmilie:
  4. ED, would it be that difficult to include an input for FreeTracks own output stream? Surely, as you seem to have the ability to detect all types of joystick and trackIR, it can't be that difficult, and as for losing my headtracking for a couple of weeks everytime you release a patch...... Its not just FreeTrack either, I'm keeping an eye on an emerging FaceTrackNoIR which looks very good. Again, it can supply output as FreeTrack. Let us show ED how many of us use FreeTrack and would like better support for it - post a response in this thread.
  5. Sorry everyone, this is not the case. It must have been something with my installation. I removed and reinstalled A10c and the fixer worked no problems. If Anyone knows how to remove or edit the title, please let me know so I can do so.
  6. Absolutely. Trying to work out how to use the CDU from the manual is very difficult indeed. It pretty much tells you what it can do but not how to piece it together. What is really needed is something written in the way the Quickstart manual is, but for the different pieces of equipment like the CDU. :book: For example, when talking to JTAC or if you're in a mission and this happens, then press this, this, then this etc... Once we know the basics we can go off and experiment with the other features. If something's too damn hard to figure out, people get miffed/bored/put off: I was frequently not getting the red triangle so no longer want to rely on it. Strangely it was appearing after 5 mins or so. But now, I just pop the coords in and off I go. They need a section in the forum just for useful posts like this to get them all into one place, like a wiki type thing.
  7. Wow, Thanks WarriorX, you've just transformed this game for me. couldnt get on at all with that but finding a piece of p*s now. Just a note to fellow noobs that when you have the target set as steerpoint, hold China Hat Aft long to slave the TGP to it, little look around (they maybe moving) then show them how its done :). Just an idea I've only had a quick chance to try but didnt make much difference is... if the UFC coords point to a box that the target may be in, and we only use 6 digit but could be 8 or 10. Does that mean that if you visualize it as a box, you are looking at the top left corner of it. Then the next digit would divide that into 10? If so, would your UFC point to the Centre of the box if you added a 5 to the end of each - example: GG 314 304 is the same as GG 3140 3040 - this represents the top left GG 3150 3050 - this represents the bottom right GG 3145 3045 - This represents the centre I gave it a quick try tonight but did not see much difference but only got time to try once. What do you all think?
  8. Thanks, replacing parts after 3days? Thats really poor. I just can't help thinking that you could buy a PS3 for that. When you think how much is in one of those, surely they can get a bloody joystick working OK. Out of interest, what made you move from the X52? Was it the hype?
  9. I know this has been asked many times before but I wanted to reopen the discussion now the Logitech have released the new firmware that should iron most of their issues. I want to spend around 200 pounds on a Hotas, I do not have much more and G940 will be a stretch. Its either the X52pro with pedals or Logitech G940. I have read many reviews on both. The G940 sounds really good on paper but I have also read many many horror stories. I would be well gutted if I spent £200 on a shocker. The X52 on the other hand has fewer features (except for a pretty useless LCD panel) but is more reliable. I currently have an X45, it works ok but i have a few gripes now. Mainly that the rudder is in an awful position, you have to contort your hand to use it. It also wanders a bit on centre, a show of age in the spring. I also want more hat switches now that I'm using DCS A10. I do not think that the X52 will supply enough for things like CMS and MIC though. I look forward to any input you can give me on this. Thanks:joystick:
  10. I've read that you have to wait for all of your nav systems to align before rolling out of the hanger. Do you think its that? I get it after being in the air for a while and doing some hard turns. Again I think its the nav system getting out of alignment, I'm now trying to find out how to do it.... somebody suggested caging the SAI when in level flight but have not tried it yet.
  11. I was flying a night sortie when it happened, took me a minute to realise what was wrong, I thought the game had crashed. This Sim never fails to amaze me by its detail.
  12. Reading your post, not sure if you realised or not so sorry if I'm just repeating. Dick Dastardly's profile does not extract any data from BlackShark. He has just created two transparent areas in his profile which allows you to see the displays which are actually under it. You can get raw data from the LUA files but if you wanted it in a display, you would have to recreate the code to build the MFCD or CDU displays.
  13. Thats great, thanks. Guess it could be pitot tube causing my HUD to go down but I would have thought that would have just messed up things like speed readout and vectoring. I'm beginning to think its a bug as it only seems to happen in multiplayer. Either that or I have different realism settings that the multiplayer server is overriding. Thanks for your replies :joystick:
  14. This is what I use: http://rapidshare.com/files/449904454/A-10C.pr0
  15. I've a couple of questions: First, where is the Ejector seat safety handle? I can not get rid of that warning light on the panel (or eject when things get rough :D) Second, I've had a few failures both starting on the ramp and during a flight, mainly with the HUD.. Sometimes I lose all of the speed, bearing, waypoint information and the numbers of degress but keep the horizontal lines. But yesterday, while flying I lost the entire HUD. I'm fairly sure I was not hit either. I had on my MFCD's "IFFCC failure" then something with a number 3 in it, cant really remember. Anyway, I managed to land. Switched right off, restarted but problem remained. Is there a way to reset that or get repairs? It was in a multiplayer so i tried the get new plane command but it did not seem to do anything. I'm thinking about replacing my ageing Saitek x45. I'm thinking maybe an X52 pro. I really fancied the Logitech 940 with the pedals but read some really bad reviews. Any recommendations for under £200?
