How far can you place a launcher from Radar?
hachiman replied to hachiman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Ok Thanx Bud -
Hi. I am just wondering with some of the SAM systems on the game whats the maximum you can place a Launcher from a Radar? I am thinking of making a mission where the Radar might be picked up miles away, but the launcher could be directly below you, giving you little time to react to launch. Also is there somewhere i can find which launchers, radars and command vehicles must be used together to make a complete system and what the ranges for different SAM's are? Thanx

Hi I'm playing FC2 at the moment and ma just enjoying taking off and landing etc. But i don't know if i am following the correct guidelines for taking off and lan ding as to regard as to where i am. How can i tell whats a taxiway and whats a runway? And can a ranway be used both for landing of taking off or just 1 or the other? Thanx

Thanx i'll check it out.

Hi I can take off and fly all over the place and launch weapons. However what I cannot do is fly well!! What I mean is the fine adjustments for course corrections or height or landings. Maybe everyones the same, but when you watch videos it seems very smooth in the cockpit. Whereas I tend to climb or descend to a height I find my angles are very steep. I trim and can get it level, but then any change to speed cause a dip or rise again and more trimming once level. Whats the best way to manage this? I’m also available to fly with someone for training any night UK time or even if someone has some training material or videos it would be much appreciated. I’m using an X-52 Pro. Thanx

Still none the wiser sorry. I don't have any mods at all and am just basic FC2. Is there something like LOMAN to install with? -

Sorry to ask, but how do i install it? Thanx -
Much appreciated guys. Thanx

Hi. Forgive me if i sound extremely dumb here. But in my understanding to go high or low, you mostly use your joysticks forward and back movement. And to increase or decrease speed you use your throttle. However in the part of the manual which covers your landing approach it says to increase/decrease height to use your speed. And to increase/decrease speed to use pitch up and down. Why the difference and not just use the designed functions as in my first paragraph? Thanx

AR Missiles in Longitudinal mode?
hachiman replied to hachiman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
The manual must be wrong then as it says you can use IR or AR but not SAR in Longitudinal mode. Thanx anyway. -
Hi Is there any way in the editor to copy player/client planes rather than have to add these individually one at a time? Thanx
-
Hi. I am reading the manual for the Su-27, Su-33 and Mig-29 and it says in Longitudinal mode I should be able to use the missile heads of IR and Active missiles to do the scanning for me. I am doing the quick start Mig-29 mission and although I have R-77’s with AR and it won’t let me select the R-77’s and only the IR R-73’s. Has this been changed in a patch? Thanx

Need some help with Russian BVR Mode
hachiman replied to hachiman's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I've been practicing against friends and enemys. Mostly large transport or tanker type planes. Ok. So i have the choice between just doing it the old fashioned way or the manual input way? So having the default 10 in the estimated target range indicator won't affect me changing the range in the HDD Display beyond that(Which i prefer)? Also in LOMAC I used to see triangles for enemy planes in the HDD when they appeared in my radar cone, but now i only get a triangle in lock or when on AWACs detection. Is that right? Thanx -
The sad thing is you can view the Satellite image in game!! So why not in the editor if it exists??
-
Ok. Thanks.

Hi I the training video it says the SHKVAL has 3 zoom levels. Bi i only seem to get 2. Is that right? Thanx
-
Yeah. What i think i'll need to do is just fly over the map and when i see a nice field F10 and zoom in and mark the spot and just remember it for the editor. I miss the satellite view. Thanx anyway.
-
I'm wanting to do some ground attack missions and want to deploy targets in fields etc where they are fairly easy to see. In the old LOMAC editor you could overlay a satellite image which made it easy to see fields. However in FC2 i just see topographical and sometimes these have trees etc. Is there a way to spot these easily in the editor? Thanx

Hi I used to play LOMAC and could do ok in the Russian fighters in BVR mode. It was just a case of changing the range scale and scanning up,down, left right. Whereas now you have to input a range. I am inputting the range as called by AWAC's, but i don't think i'm getting the hang of the height. I set up missions with perhaps 4 bandits coming towards me and have the radar in HRPF mode and am moving the scale up and down and am lucky if i get 1 hit on radar. What does each increment do on the height change mean? 1km above or below and does 1-0 mean dead level with your plane? I've watched the training vid and it looks so easy, but i scan up and down for targets i know are there and am lucky to see anything. Any help, advice or training tracks and vids appreciated.

Just taking off on SU-27 with 3 enemy transports coming in from 330. The AWACs auto reports the correct bearing etc.
-
Hi Just doing a test mission and the AWAC's reports automatically that bandits are bearing 330. However if ask for a vector the nearest bandit it says Olympus 100 and thats about it. I take it that it is giving me some info, but it is not the same as the my true bearing to the bandits which i know is 330. So why is it saying 100, when i know it's different? Thanx

Thanx Exorcet, but was none of those. I just changed my / key to another and it works fine now. Maybe something to do with international keyboards but i am in the UK and FC2 doesn't respond to \. However now i have it working, my X-52 doesn't like the macro i am trying to put in for nearest bandt or tanker or homebase etc. The first Communications menu appears, but not the 2nd or 3rd. I'll keep working on it.
