SA-342 Gazelle 2023 "FM" Update
Marshallman replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Good video. -
This is probably aimed at anyone with flight setup problems, Newbies etc. Hope it can help. Ive spent a lot of time recently with this machine along with @swartbyron and its so sweet. First thing I noticed is the Autopilot, I have mapped it and usually leave it off, only bringing it in for weapons delivery to utilise the Hover. It resolves a snap like effect of the heli, which may also be the "glued effect" on the ground? Second thing is 50% fuel transorms it, but its still very capable with a full fuel and weapons. Third thing, Trim reset.....I find it invaluable when transitioning into Landing turns and it very quickly becomes natural to reset trim when you have achieved new flight position (mapped to tms aft switch on stick). Also holding the trim in when transitioning does the same thing, I had NO idea you could do this...... but on my joystick it does loose connection occasionally. Settings are based on my setup I have a Virpil collective with Alpha LH grip and a Warthog Joystick with a 200mm swan neck extension. Crosswind Yaw/rudder Pedals These all relate to right hand sliders Deadzone, Saturation X, Saturation Y, Curvature of all your axes Roll 0 - 50 - 100 - 10 Pitch 0 - 50 - 100 - 10 Yaw 0 - 100 - 100 - minus10 Collective 0 - 50 - 100 - minus 20 (invert - this maybe just a Virpil requirement) Special settings Cyclic trim type instant, Pedal trim type None If its still too twitchy, then try deadzones on Roll and pitch of 4 each. Just a couple of fingers on the stick Regards Nimbus

Just Watched "Mover" in the OH6 Video.......Someone PLEASE make a landing pad trailer for this Helo!!!!!!!! Vid Link here! -
I tested the Crucial unit I have just fitted yesterday and the difference in speed is visibly noticable ( I only had 20Gb spare on the original 500Gb SSD). So now I'm running main C drive.... 2TB Crucial P3 M.2 . As DCS grows in Maps etc, I will move this to being the sole DCS drive. I am also buying ahead of the current PC specs to reduce impact for the accountant DCS currently ... 1TB Evo SSD Original drive now Spare drive 500GB Evo SSD (backup system for the time being) Early days I know but if theres any change, I'll come back on and report it. Regards

Awesome, thankyou the missing link is now complete...I do have the game on a 1TB SSD separate from the new Windows M.2

OK all done using Disc Genius!! thanks for your help!!! Ironically the two sata's were installed on sockets 2 and 3 Last question please... Should DCS also be on the C drive? Regards
-
Thankyou The Drive I'm removing is Sata slot 1...so this should work out nicely footnote below nothing on the Socket 1

OK this has me pondering Somewhat...Delivery today will be a 2TB Crucial P3 M.2 (22x80) PCIe 3.0 (x4) NVMe SSD, 3D NAND, Read 3500MB/s, Write 3000MB/s 7TY6N. I have purchased this from Scan after talking to their Technical section yesterday. Currently my C drive is a 500Gb Samsung Evo 860, which is full...... D drive a 1TB Samsung Evo 860 . D drive holds DCS solely. Plan is to replace the C drive with the new Crucial P3 M.2 and also drag DCS onto that, removing the original 500Gb C drive, and having DCS totally on the new C drive. This PC is solely for DCS and Condor2 (3 shortly). Motherboard is Asus B460M-A which will be the next upgrade on the PC. Anyone seeing any problems here please? Also any tips for sequence of the above process will be greatly received. Regards Nimbus

Hi, I have a friend with a lot of experience on DCS having been there from the start...He posted me a shot the other day showing his PC running at 42Gb on 4Ya Syria server. So I am instantly upgrading my Ram to 64Gb. If you go on SCan computers UK... they explain the uses of ram and are available to chat (support) and check you are buying the right ram for your Board!! its not necessarily the faster Ram either. Or your chosen PC provider in Beautiful Spain where you live. Also loook at your pagefile settings in windows, this allocates a section of your drives to act as ram in the event of overspill on your installed ram...All has a major affect on gameplay. Textures are the major key in DCS... he reduced them and saved 10Gb in ram. Hope this helps Regards

Change sleep mode in Headset settings to "Never" I had the same wih mine with a V2 cable.....wouldnt wake up, then black screen almost to the point of buying a cable. Also I noticed my powered USB port was touching the 240V socket extension. Moved that away to avoid potential problems. Its now running OK for me Regards Footnote ......Check your plugs PC end and Helmet!!

Yes I noticed that, happened on the 2.9 update if I remember right. Annoying when you set up Tads video in the rear and it changes automatically. Regards -

55 inch LG Oled 4K TV here, running at 120hz and using Track Ir, mind blowing clarity, automatic blue light dimming according to time. Wall mounted. Sitting in a 5ft square sim area. Kindly bought for me by my son who suffered a torn adductor tendon. I drove for him for a year and a half while it repaired allowing him to continue working. Ironically, once you have flown VR, you cant go back.
