  1. Thank you for all the great work. I installed the HMCS Montreal, it looks great, but the "machine guns" don't have textures. I would like to know if I'm missing the texture file or if something has to be modified in the config file. Anyone else experiencing this issue? All other textures are fine. Thanks for the great work.
  2. Thank you Zergburger and Ironhand for the help. I tried to fly another short trip to save the track following your suggestions and the problem was gone! After some digging I found that in the OB version two throttle switches were programmed to the autopilot, which engaged the AP automatically every time I loaded the F-16. Embarrassing oversight on my part, but the good thing is my problem is solved. Cheers
  3. I have the same problem. I haven't used the F-16 since the last two updates, but it was working fine last time I used it. Two days ago I decided to fly the F-16 and had the same problem, mainly rolling left and strange pitch movements in a nose high attitude. I checked my joystick (TM Warthog), config and mission file. I tested the joystick with other planes, no problem. I tried another joystick, same problem (with the F-16). I also have the stable version so I tested the F-16 in both DCS stable and OB, same joystick, same joystick config, same mission: default Nevada free flight in the "instant action". No icing, warm temperature. No problems in the stable version, only in the open beta. The plane rolls left. With significant right trim I can stop it, but the when I try to roll left the plane momentarily rolls right before rolling left. With a nose high attitude, full power, over 400 kts, the nose drops aggressively and rolls left. It stabilizes in a nose low left bank attitude, while flight controls are neutral. It is unfortunately unusable right now. I can't attach a track file they are always too large, any tip on how I should do it? Cheers
  4. Draconus, adding power should push the nose up, to maintain altitude it requires trimming nose down, I haven't flown the Tomcat since the last update but I'll give it a try but it sounds like it flies like it should. I experimented with the Tomcat and F-5 a while ago, trimmed level flight and bring the power back to idle at TOD like I'm used to in real life. Both planes stayed level but airspeed dropped. It was a while ago so I'll try it again tonight and get back to you. I stand corrected, I just tried the Tomcat and F-5 and they behaved as expected, that's good to see. It has been a while since I tried those two, spending all my time between the Hornet and the F-16. I don't know if some tuning was done to the flight model recently or if it's me! Now hopefully the power required to taxi will get fixed eventually. Cheers
  5. In a real non FBW aircraft the plane is trimmed for speed. when teaching on the T-6 I used to show this to student pilots: perfectly trimmed level flight at power setting XX to maintain speed XX, then you reduce power by 10% without touching the stick, then the nose starts to drop to maintain speed and you get about 500 FPM descent. Bring power back and aircraft levels off. Part of the training is figuring out power settings and power changes equals how much FPM change. When flying a precision approach well trimmed, small power adjustments should keep you on glide slope. Many people have a tendency to push pull the stick but if you want to keep the speed you are trimmed for power will change the vertical. You do have to "help" it a bit with the stick at times. Pitch controls speed, power controls climb/descent. When students finally understand and accept this their approaches become a lot easier and more stable; but it takes a while to de-construct wrong concepts. I find this generally does not work in DCS and other civilian sims. Most sims, with a perfectly trimmed aircraft, I bring power all the way to idle and the aircraft stays level but speed drops. Not true in real life. For FBW, like the Hornet, you to push that nose where you want it to be and adjust power, a totally different way of flying that takes a while to get used to.
  6. The best BVR fighter, I would buy the F-15C right away.
  7. Hi BreaKKer, I could be wrong but I was under the impression they were added when the ALR-67 was introduced. All pictures of the early Tomcats don't have those fairings however late As and Bs have them. Please let me know if I'm wrong. One way or another it doesn't change how great the plane is in DCS, I just think it would be nice to add this visual detail down the road for accuracy. Thank you all for your inputs.
  8. Please prevent the wingman from flying around during daylight with formation lights ON. It is purely visual and does not affect playability, however it "ruins" screenshots. I flew in the Air Force for 25 years and formation lights were only used on formation night flights, not during the day and not single ship. Are there Air Forces out there that operate differently? I would like to know if it's the case. Thank you for your great products Dan
  9. Thank you HB for the F-14, it looks great and it is a joy to use in DCS. I do have a question about ECM fairings. From what I know about the Tomcat the late A and B had ECM fairings next to the engine intakes. The D did not have those fairings since these antennas were mounted internally. Is there a reason they are missing on the model? I understand it is purely visual but I was wondering if it is an oversight or am I missing something? Below is a link of what I'm talking about. Overall a great product, and I look forward to the continuous improvements and support you bring to this product. HOME OF M.A.T.S. - Tomcat Details (topedge.com) Dan
