  1. Viggen sure is an iconic and incredible airplane, but I feel like the AJS 37 we currently have is sufficient for Viggen-enthusiasts. Personally, I would prefer a more modern multi-role aircraft in the form of a JAS 39 C and/or D module. I think Heatblur could present a very compelling reason for SAAB and the Swedish Armed Forces to allow Heatblur to make a JAS 39 C/D module by making the argument that the existence of such a module would encourage younger generations to seek a career in the Air Force (which is currently undermanned). I think with the acceptance of Sweden into NATO as a full member, we might see SAAB and the Swedish Air Force become more open to the idea of such a module. Do I have any evidence or indications that such will be the case? Absolutely not, but in the words of Martin Luther King; I have a dream...
  2. I should've clarified that I meant official modules.
  3. Given the Kola terrain being in development and the only Swedish airframe currently being the Viggen; maybe try and make some older cold war assets? Infantry with RBS 69 Tgb 11/13/20/40 Bv 202/206 Lvrbbv 2071 Lvrbv 701 Pbv 302 Stripbv 3021 Epbv 3022 Ikv 91 Strv 102/104 Bkan 1
  4. Hi there, I would like to propose dividing the squadron recruiting board into sub-categories for different regions, e.g.: Europe Americas Asia Oceania Global I feel as though this change would help both those who are looking to join a squadron (to find a squadron in their timezone), and people who are recruiting for a squadron (to reach their target audience).
  5. Southern Baltic including Gotland. Gotland is by far one of the most strategically important islands in the entire world due to it's position in the middle of the Southern Baltic Sea. For NATO, Gotland is important because control of the island would secure supply routes to the Baltics and cut off Kaliningrad from Russian supplies. 6. Now that GlobalSecurity.org has become a subscription service; here are the options I use for finding various U.S. publications and documents: FAS - Military Analysis Network FAS - US Army Table of Organization & Equipment FAS - Intelligence and Security Doctrine Library BITS - Joint Chiefs of Staff Publications Library BITS - US Army Publications Library APD - Army Publishing Directorate (Official source) USA - Central Army Registry (Official source) USN - Department of Navy Issuances (Official source) USMC - Marine Corps Publications Electronic Library (Official source) USAF - E-Publishing (Official source) USAF - USAF Doctrine (Official source) DOD - Directives Division (Official source) JCS - Joint Electronic Library (Official source)
  7. Hiya folks, I'm OPSEC, a qualified random dude on the internet. I've studied Swedish military doctrine, equipment, and history for ca. 5 years and currently run Sweden's largest privately owned archive of Swedish Armed Forces publications. Recently picked DCS back up after a ca. 2 year break from the game and am hoping to actually learn the F/A-18C and A-10C II in depth as I did with the Viggen two years ago. I'm interested in joining a squadron at some point but am not too sure about how proficient I should be before applying to one. I look forward to seeing you in the air! Best regards, OPSEC
  8. I am 100% in favor of making a Southern Baltic map. It's a very strategically important and interesting area.
  9. I by no stretch of the imagination would class myself as competent in this field but I did a search in the Swedish National Archive's War Archive's inventory database for JAS 39 and got 1187 hits, including English language manuals for the C and D models. I (as a qualified random dude on the internet) would deem it possible to create a JAS 39 for DCS based on the sheer number of publications, presuming a developer could get permission from SAAB.
