Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
Molnija1985 replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
@currenthill Amazing, work! But for me personally, your amazing models have no use as I make maps set in the Cold War era. That's why I want to ask if you're planning units from the Cold War era? Units and especially infantry from the 80s, USA, Russia, West/East Germany, would be very helpful, especially on the Germany map -
Hello, Just out of curiosity, how many hours and what are your stats in MiG? I only fly SP and I try to simulate ČSLA (or VVS) training accurately, I have created my own training map and so far it looks like this:
-
Hello, first sorry for my broken english. Today's release should have fixed RSBN navigation for the MiG-21Bis in the Germany map. However, I don't have the feeling that it would work. For example, Damgarden has channel 32 and it doesn't work. The far and near beacons work properly. Do you have the same problem? best regards

Hello Guys, please, until which year did the MiG-21Bis fly in Russia? Was he stationed at any air base within the Caucasus region after 1991? I read that it was officially phased out only in 2013, in the number of 30 pieces. Please, does anyone have any information about the MiG-21Bis in the Caucasus region after 1991, possibly also a photo, articles (also in Russian). I am doing one mission and I would like to make it as believable as possible, I would like to set it in the post-Soviet era, at the latest possible time, when they were still in the VVS armament. Thank you...

Year-adjusted models for maps - BIG WISH
Molnija1985 replied to Molnija1985's topic in DLC Map Wish List
One of the simplest suggestions could be the following… Sinai is a good example: - a graphic modeler who designed objects (houses) made a house that contains photovoltaic panels and air conditioning. So the same house could be used only without photovoltaic panels and air conditioning - simple removal of objects from the model, minimal work and costs. - When selecting a map in the map editor, the era is also selected from the combobox (let's not complicate it with a year), e.g. Cold War (1949 - 1989), or the Present. - if i choose cold war the objects are loaded eg. houses without photovoltaic panels and air conditioning, cars will have other older models, older panel houses will appear instead of modern skyscrapers, even the mentioned islands in Dubai can be solved - they will simply be removed - the only thing I see the most work in are airports and objects at airports... that would probably need to be remodeled to a large extent I think it can be solved quite elegantly, yes the prices of the maps would be higher, but probably not by much (since it will mostly be about deleting objects from already created objects). Maybe as an incentive for future maps... -
Year-adjusted models for maps - BIG WISH
Molnija1985 replied to Molnija1985's topic in DLC Map Wish List
I understand, the problem is that the current technology does not allow this at all, since the objects on the map are fixed, it is only possible to add new objects, without modifying the original objects. Rather, it is an incentive for the future. A spherical world is planned. They will probably follow a similar path as MS with realtime rendering of objects. And here it would be worth defining unique ID objects on the map (of course not all of them) and with simple conditions, if the year = 1980, then replace such and such objects with other objects. We practically don't talk about anything other than modeling. DCS is not an MS flight simulator (and never will be - I hope), I don't think anyone at DCS cares about "this bridge wasn't standing in 1983" and "this building wasn't built in 1979". But what bothers people (and I believe not only me) is that if I want to make the Egypt - Israel conflict in the 70s, it looks quite funny on the current map. Sorry for google translate English - I guess that's understandable. -
Year-adjusted models for maps - BIG WISH
Molnija1985 replied to Molnija1985's topic in DLC Map Wish List
Sorry I use google translate.... I understand that, but the current maps are basically only from the WW2 and from the present, which is a shame. But even so, if the technology of loading objects on the map were modified a little, the solution would be possible. Skyscrapers and big cities could be solved by entering e.g. 1970, so some buildings (skyscrapers, malls, modern buildings) will be replaced by other (older) buildings. Practically the two worlds would be WW2 and the present day with a range of 1946 to the present. It's a shame it doesn't work that way. I am afraid that if Vietnam comes out, it will be oriented to the present instead of decades back, which is exactly the Vietnam - which everyone knows. That's why I don't buy any new maps anymore because I'm interested in the cold war... -
Hello, first sorry guys for my broken English, i must use google translator. I have special wish on maps. Would it be possible to implement temporal adjustment on maps? Currently, maps such as Sinai or Afghanistan are "unusable" e.g. for the years 1970 and 1980 - most maps are oriented for the present. So it seems quite ridiculous that already in 1972 houses in Egypt had photovoltaic panels, air conditioners in houses and modern cars. At the same time, the adjustments would not have to be so difficult, e.g. only models for a specific year would be uploaded when the map is loaded. For example, the house model for the current year includes a photovoltaic panel, air conditioning, if I enter the year 1985, the same model is loaded but without photovoltaic panels and air conditioning. Also, the cars would be customized for the given year, that would contain about several models. It's a huge detail, but I believe it's quite important. Especially for those who fly helicopters. best regards...

Hello, first sorry for my broken English - i must use google translator. After update on new version 2.9.6, I have problem in Singleplayer with logbook. Logbook is very important for my. Landing is not displayed or counted in statistics. As you can see in the picture, the landing is missing from the statistics, I landed correctly and I parking my MiG-21.As a result, the flight time is not included in the logbook. I am also sending my logbook just to be sure... Identified on version: 2.9.6.57650 (Czech localization) Important for my: critically Modul: tested on DCS MiG-21Bis Indentified on mission/campaign: my own training mission (see attachment) Thank you Best regards Molnija logbook.lua USSR_1984_Caucasus_Solo_SHOOTING_MiG-21Bis.miz

Hello, sorry for my broken English. Please, will it be updated flight model on MiG-21Bis (official without mods)? Basically since release the flight model has been very bad...and 21 is not usable on dogfights or close maneuver combat. Now that he gets 21 opponents, it would be worth making the 21 a nimble and dynamic aircraft. At the moment, 21 behaves like a "brick" in the air. Thank you Best regards Molnija

2.9 BETA - FPS drops after few minutes - Part 2
Molnija1985 replied to Molnija1985's topic in Game Performance Bugs
@The_Nephilim Thank you, but this HW configuration: CPU: intel i-9 12900K (without OC) RAM: 32GB RAM (without OC) GPU: RTX 3080 (without OC with latest update 546.33 from 12/12/2023) HDD: 2x .m2 Monitor: 32" ASUS TrackIR: v5 Joysticks: Saitek X56 + peddals should handle very high settings just fine Currently, after set parking CPU cores in registry everything works as it should. I hope that ED will fix this problem soon and I will be able to revert to the original registry configuration. -
I have a lot of DCS modules (mainly to support development)...but I mainly fly MiG-21Bis. I live 4 km from the largest air shooting range in Central Europe (Slovakia - Malacky), so over the years I have seen L-39C/ZA, MiG-21, Su-22M4, Su-25, MiG-29 Mi-8, Mi-24, A-10C, Mirage F-1, Mirage 2000, F-16 (after included to NATO)...but I was also fascinated by Soviet machines from the Cold War I'm more of a fan of Soviet (or czechoslovakia) aircrafts My DCS dreams (aircrafts): Su-17/22 (planed to DCS) Su-25 Su-27 MiG-21 (more versions from F13 to MF) MiG-25 MiG-27 MiG-29 (planed to DCS) L-410 L-29 An-26 Il-28 My DCS dreams (maps): Central "Cold War" Europe (1970 - 1980) Vietnam (1960 - 1975) Astrakhan - soviet biggest shooting range My current profile for the MiG-21 in singleplayer: Sorry for my broken English..

2.9 BETA - FPS drops after few minutes - Part 2
Molnija1985 replied to Molnija1985's topic in Game Performance Bugs
@The_Nephilim Thank you for your interest. But I don't think so, my computer is built and configured basically only for DCS. And as I mentioned before, everything was fine until version 2.9. Editing the key in the registry for parking the processor cores solved my problem. So the problem is in the optimization of the DCS itself...in 2.9 version. I also noticed that several players have the same problem. I guess ED will make a fix soon and I will return the registry to its original state - I really don't like editing registries. Sorry for my Googletranslate English... -
2.9 BETA - FPS drops after few minutes - Part 2
Molnija1985 replied to Molnija1985's topic in Game Performance Bugs
I get it! Since I have been working as an IT tester/Release Manager and QA manager for 18 years, I know what it entails At the same time, I understand the frustration of some users. -
2.9 BETA - FPS drops after few minutes - Part 2
Molnija1985 replied to Molnija1985's topic in Game Performance Bugs
@BIGNEWY I applying this workaround (it works for me) : But as someone already said in some thread, games should not be repaired by intervention in the windows system, but by intervention to the games themselves. -
It looks like currently the only workaround that really works is unlocking the parked CPU cores. I was impatient and applied the given workaround - it works. Warning: this is an intervention in the windows system, please consider it, everyone acts at their own risk
-
Guys, first sorry for my broken English... From what I understand in this thread, it looks like a lot of people are having the problem - including me. I describe my problem in this thread: Could this be the exact problem described here?
-
absolutely agree...

Hi first sorry for my broken English. In this thread I reported my bug with extreme FPS drops: @BIGNEWY helped me with this workaround: Set Up Pagefile for DCS Set Up pagefile for DCS it really helped, but unfortunately only partially. Currently I have FPS drops, but not so particularly pronounced and not so often. This is my FPS, before applying the workaround: A really big and unstable sine wave. FPS drops from 180 frames to 9 frames lasting tens of seconds. Now is status better, but it is still limiting to play. After applying workaround is sine wave a little more beautiful (more stable) : FPS drops are now, less frequented and smaller. And it is my optimal status: OK, now I am attaching the essential information of the previous Issues. Just to be sure, I repeated the test and am sending all the findings: HW: CPU: intel i-9 12900K (without OC) RAM: 32GB RAM (without OC) GPU: RTX 3080 (without OC with latest update 546.33 from 12/12/2023) HDD: 2x .m2 Monitor: 32" ASUS TrackIR: v5 Joysticks: Saitek X56 + peddals SW: OS: Windows 11 Pro 64bit 22H2 Other system sofware: WiseCare 365 PRO, ARMOURY CRATE Prerequisites: DCS version: NON-STEAM My DCS account: RussianKnights DCS Beta (2.9.1.48335), was installed from previous versions. Installed Mods for DCS: None Installed language: Czech (Čeština) Modules aircraft: DCS A-10C, DCS F-86F, L-39, M-2000C, Mi-24P, Mi-8MTV2, MiG-15Bis, Mig-19P, MiG-21Bis, Mirage F-1, P-47, P-51, Yak-52 Modules maps: Nevada (free, due to the purchased DCS A-10C), Caucasus, Channel (upgraded to 2.0), Marianas, Normandy, Persian Gulf, Sinai, Modules others: Combined Arms, China Asset Pack, FC3, WW2 asset pack My current setting: Occurrence of bug: from upgrade on 2.9 version (Until the arrival of the long-awaited version 2.9 with DLSS support, this bug did not occur.) occurs regardless of setting (low, medium, ultra - it does not matter) yesterday I tested this bug on other maps and DCS modules...default map Persian Gulf and F-86 and Mirage F1 and bug is occurs too, so it is not map or DCS module dependent the bug occurs in singleplayer, I haven't tried multiplayer yet, but I assume it will be the same, I will try it on request Description of bug (update after applying workaround): occurrence of unexpected FPS drops, e.g. from 150 (without enabled Vsync) to 30 FPS...also tested with VSync enabled with the same result. the FPS drops occurs mainly when switching views (F2, F3) but also in the standard F1 view after a certain time.... during the one-hour flight, I am in the FPS drops for about 10 minutes Proposed temporarily workarounds by ED @Flappie: Set "High performance" in Windows Power Options -> not working Workaround described on this page https://www.dannymoran.com/windows-cpu-core-parking/ -> not accepted this workaround from my side, I am afraid to changes in registers where I do not know the impact of the changes Proposed temporarily workarounds by ED @BIGNEWY: Set Up Pagefile for DCS -> minor improvement I'm at my wits end, I haven't flown in almost two months, because of this bug and I'm starting to experience withdrawal symptoms... Help meee, please...
