  1. A value of 10 is working well for my settings. I much prefer this view for flying heads up eyes outside the cockpit. I also avg 5more fps in this view as the cockpit isn't being rendered. The improved avg fps also helps with the yankin n bankin. I barely have to look down with my tir to see the mfds, it's like looking at the bottom of my monitor and the view tilts down to show the mfds, feels more natural this way, now there is actually "head up" and "head down" flying.
  2. Thanks, I will experiment.
  3. What value would I change to change one of these views, and move the view up the pitch axis so that the bottom of the view is the top of the dash? I don't want to see the MFDs unless I look down.
  4. I have x52 non pro for about 5 years now. It still centers fine in any application but the stick itself has developed some slop where the stick handle mounts to the shaft. It bugs me enough that I want a new one or a pro. Mind you it worked fine with no slop for probably 2+ years, and I have no rudder pedals so using the twist makes it get sloppy quicker. I use this profile. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=58795
  5. CMS Set to AUTO in unknown threat area. CMS Set to SEMI in known threat and set to appropriate profile. If you know there are MANPADS in a valley, I wouldn't go into said valley. Attack from a safe alt, and if you can't do that you need some SEAD flights or you should abort. If you think there are MANPADS in your path, it would be wise to preemptively pop flares as you fly through the area. Evasion is luck more than anything in a confined space to go defensive. And typically you will get launched on more than once and the second one has a better pk on you after you maneuvered against the first. Minimizing the chances of being fired at is the best bet.
  6. Good work indeed. F-18 FTW!
  7. Bug plz.
  8. 40 fps is totally flyable, esp if that is when you are looking directly at the source of the slow down.
  9. I'm gonna start a new, serious business logbook now. Had too many beta related deaths.
  10. Just did my first overclock yesterday on my AMD 955 BE. Went from stock 3.2ghz to 4ghz on air on the stock cooler. I set my multiplier to 19, bus to 210 and voltage upped from 1.360 to 1.425 in the bios. Just search your proc name and mobo name and OC you should find plenty of similar setups. Also checkout speed fan if you need a program to monitor your temps. My temps went from 39c idle to about 47c idle, and caps out at about 62c when under full load on Prime95. Going from 3.2 to 4ghz made hardly any difference in A-10C, I maybe got another 2fps, went from 28fps to about 30 on the runway in the pit. DCS beta 4 isn't using these new machines to their potential. It only uses 1 core fully and maybe a tad on another. Im running 2 gtx470s in sli which does nothing for DCS, unlike a game like ARMA2 which will fully use both cards and all four cores.
  11. Fox 1 = Active Radar missile such as AIM-7 Fox 2 = Heat seaker such as AIM-9 Fox 3 = Semi Active Radar missile such as AIM-120
  12. http://games.on.net/article/11576/Developer_Interview_DCS_A10Cs_Jim_Mackonochie Chew on that.
  13. Ever check to see what fps you are getting on that setup StrongHarm?
  14. Bro, did you even bother to read the last few pages? It's Detroit Michigan, the jet is flying down the Detroit RIVER before the start of a boat race. Beta 6 nao, this thread is filling with da poo poo.
